    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The karma limits seems to have been removed, so you can easily offset the past now.

Technically, yes. But only if you have coins I believe. I just hit the Karma button and only positive is available. Not that I care, as I don't give out negative karma, but just letting others know what I see.
 
I get the option to check "Especially good post" (which I presume gives out a green dot), or "Especially bad post" (which I presume gives out a red dot)

Don't you get that box?

The box itself shows up for all of us, but the "Especially Bad Post" option is only there for paying members.

I believe the karma limit that Lucille mentioned is in regard to how many times you can leave karma in a given 24-hour period. Until fairly recently, I think the limit was twice a day.

News to me, but it's possible. I rarely hit the limits unless I'm trying to cycle through to double up on somebody.

Sort of...what happens depends on the "karma power" of the giver. For good karma, the system gives the recipient "reputation points" in the amount of the giver's karma power. For bad karma, the system deducts points in an amount equal to 1/2 the giver's k.power. Many times, there is no obvious change, because the number of points isn't sufficient to change the visible boxes. There are a few different factors that come into play, including length of membership and post count; but I don't remember the details well enough to explain them all.

The restrictions on karma included the number of positives and negatives that a person could give per day (I'm pretty sure it was 2 negs...I thought the positives were higher), how much karma has to be given before you could give more to a given person, etc
 
Yes, I changed this recently without any fanfare. Someone needs to keep you all on your toes...... :sneaky:
