For the last time, I don't have a car! I can't drive there and it's not easy to get to by bus. I did occasionally rent cars for the weekend, but I can't really afford to do that and shouldn't have to to get paid. You have my address, SEND me the money! Try mailing it - it works great! See, you just put the money into an envelope, seal it, put my address on it, and for only 39 cents (less than the price of gas) somebody else will bring it right to where I live! You better hurry though - postage rates are going up to 41 cents soon...

p.s. I was at the meeting again.

I can't say I'm surprised....but I am sorry April. I forget, have you contacted the police yet? With Chuck's record, I would think they would be quite interested to know that he is now a thief as well.

You can report him to his local authorities for stolen property/theft. Report him to the local animal police/rescue/recovery in his town. Provide copies of any emails and phone call conversations you had that may be taped/saved on emails. Also, write down what was said and dates and times as much as possible and any witnesses to this transaction. I think emails are always a better way to do trades than phones because it is easy to prove who said and did what and not just a he said/she said contest. Also, if he is a business, report him to the BBB if he is a member. You also might look into a background check on this guy.

Maybe with the help of some crafty friends of yours, you can get them to help put pressure on this guy to live up to his end of the agreement. Try contacting people who may live near him to see if they can help you track this guy down. He is a thief, plain and simple. Google him to see where else he has been "lurking". Make sure to warn everyone about him. He can't accuse you of harassment because you are collecting on a debt and that makes you a debt collector. He would have to prove he did ship back to you and that you are ruining his name for no reason for a slander case, and he screws himself there as well. Plus, as cheap as this guy sounds, I doubt he has the money to file a case. You might look into filing yourself if you have the money and time. It only costs a little to file, court costs are more expensive but he probably won't show and the judgement is automatically to you.

Maybe I am just a vigilante in disguise, lol. Live and learn from this one so next time you are less likely to get burned.

I have many small animals nothing large mostly purchased from RJ's in NH.
When RJ's closed their doors I asked why and was directed to this site to look around. I have never been so amused in my life and had to sign up to put in my two cents, I would even pay to be able to read these awesome threads. Honestly it would be even better to be able to find out information on things of value other than a bunch of children pulling punches on others for a quick laugh. But I know as well as most people humans can be and are ruthless for the most part it is always me me me. Very few people will own up to a mistake or make things right. A lot of these threads, and I have read a lot of them, contain the same comedians in them. Just like always if you have nothing of value to say just keep your hands off the key board. I can see how this could be a very hard habit to break, where else can you slam on some one and not have to show your face. In my eyes you must not value your time very much!! If you have a problem say it then drop the childish crap.
Lets all grow up so threads like this can be of value not how well someone may write.

After reading the RJ thread and seeing the load of unresolved complaints against him I would like to thank you for posting this statement.
You have demonstrated that the BOI is indeed effective in eliminating the Bad Guys from our hobby/industry.
The fact that you chose to blast the posters here and on the RJ thread for reporting their bad dealings, combined with this statement,

If you purchase something online it is a risk you take.

demonstrates that you have no understanding what the BOI is all about which is exposing the liars, thieves and scammers so we can feel secure in dealing with breeders and dealers on line.

You may be angry that your friend is no longer in business but place the blame where it belongs, with the person who had lousey ethics and morals. Not with the people who report those failings.

I have read many threads on this site and most of it is not of value it appears to be who can trash who. I do not know you or any one else here in person, but a lot of these threads paint a good picture of the writer.
There have been many cases in which RJ's was also burned on many deals.
I am not mad or upset, he did not lose his business he closed shop on his own.
I also own a business, not animal related, but I also have to deal with the public and to tell the truth some people just out right suck! I am not here to say who is right or wrong because like I said earlier only a few people will admit to being wrong, if I do a wrong I will try my best to make it right. Sometimes people will not let go and it sucks. I had just signed up with this site and it appears to me their is valuable information here but 90% of it is just trash talking. I believe everyone is entitled to an opinion yours may differ than mine but it is your opinion and I respect it. But to talk trash is of no value. From what I have seen scrolling through these threads it would be hard to pick and choose through the trash, but there is freedom of speech. But there are also limits to that if you call some one out you should have something in writing. There are many threads that could lead to trouble if they have not already. Let me know if I am on the right track your opinion is yours and mine is mine.

there is lots of good information here, i just think it might be better off for you then, if you just avoid the BOI altogether. i can somewhat agree that the BOI is filled with LOTS of nonsense, but really as off topic as it can get it is mostly still relevant to the situation at hand. Its just reading a thread that is 160 or so pages long is a bit time consuming and most people DONT want to do it.

Stick to the forums and you will find that 80% of it is useful information that you can learn from. I say 80% because there are a few discussion forums that are just kind of random, and lots and lots of polls
