This thread started almost 2 years ago over a completely different deal than the current bad check conversation. He has a history of trying to avoid giving money to people he owes it to. People who do a search on him or his "business" deserve to find all this information, so let's keep it all about Mr. Schuck and keep the rest to PM

I agree that she is. And as to taking the focus off, the entire point Deborah is making, and it is a good one, is that we should focus on the business components here rather than letting this become a barroom brawl.

Yeah you are right on all counts. Except, I think he doesn't realize that he is winning the battle but losing the war; after all, people are not going to want to do any kind of future business either buying or selling, with someone like him.

From what April has said before, it seems that most of the local herp community up there already knows oh Chuck "The Schmuck" for what he is... a known liar and thief. What really gets me is his nonchalant attitude about it. He doesn't care one bit that April needs that money. And to post pics of his "facility" with video games is a true kick in the face.

Maybe things are different in Tejas. Here, for the piddly amount that is involved IF you can get anyone to talk to you they'll tell you that small claims is a better bet.

I suspect that chuckie, as stupid as he is, has learned this through MULTIPLE usage of the closed account check writing routine. Huh chuckie.

As far as calling him Butt Wheat, I've seen that done to a lot of people, most of whom I have no clue as to skin colour though I do know some of them were fishbelly white.

Deborah, I do understand you sensitivity but once you've been here for a while you'll see that there is very little racism and what there is is not tolerated. You may also see, now that you've taken an active interest, a bit more minding of the words.

However, as I stated when we chatted previously, there is a reason, a VERY good one, for alluding to things about ones family when one has proven himself to be a scumbag as chuckie has or when he's on the way to doing so. It's valid and I will continue to use it whether you like it or not. You do have the option of dinging me for it which you are free to use to express your opinion.

The DA can institute criminal charges, here in Texas there are people in jail for writing bad checks. While the criminal action may not retrieve money, jail time is vey helpful to remind people that they ought to have money in their accounts when writing checks.

For a hundred and twenty dollar check you MIGHT get to talk to a clerk.

It's just not a priority for them.

Real life isn't like they teach it in school. The sooner you learn that lucille and stop offering advice not worth the time it takes to write it, the better off all of us will be.

It would be NICE if things worked the way they teach you they should, but the plain and simple is, they don't.

We had an ASSHOLE list on the window and did our own repos when we could.

Finally we just stopped taking checks.

Out here, they still have horse laws on the books. Hardly worth comparing really.

I was just pointing out that some places actually have the time and resources, so it may be worth the try for April to do so.

I like your list idea. I think I've mentioned it, but here is a restaurant here that puts checks that have been returned unpaid under the glass on their front counter near the cashier. Being that it is a small suburban town, lots of people see those checks.

I would love to see the check April has that was returned unpaid framed and displayed at reptile shows.


Now, for those of you who have on occasion had a returned check because of bad math or the like, and then immediately made it good, this kind of harsh publicity would be inappropriate.
