    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

It seems like you have had a lot going on in your life, and can't afford vet care for the critters. Perhaps you should consider selling your collection until you have more funds and a more settled life?

Quitting a job vs taking time off a job is two different things, but maybe since you haven’t worked in so long you don’t know the difference [emoji2359]

I hated my last job but I still offered two weeks notice. Thankfully my boss understood my situation and didn’t even require me to come in the following 2 weeks if I didn’t want to. And the job prior to that I quit I put in two weeks notice.

You must be one sad person going and stalking my social media. I could give a f about who you are, so you don’t see me scraping every last little bit of info I can get.

I probably have more funds than you. I’m just not an idiot who takes their animals to get veterinary care when it’s something I can take care of on my own. That beardie’s still alive and thriving, after I took care of its issues on my own. Was also from a long time ago, but of course you’re doing all that you can to make me look bad. Lol.

And just to correct you once again, 2 weeks notice is generally for QUITTING. Most jobs require at least a months notice as far as taking time off unless it’s an emergency, and if you really think “my lizards sick” is going to qualify as an emergency to my job, then you’re highly mistaken at how much the common person values a reptiles life. I wish I could tell my job I’m going to Vegas in two weeks or taking the day off to go the beach lol. Doesn’t work that way.

I think my choice in creating a separate searchable Bad Guy thread for Emery will hopefully save some sellers grief as I do not see Emery changing his ways any time soon.

Thank you Lucille! Hated to do that in any case, it feels very bad to see that on my fb wall. Which is usually filled with beautiful creatures.

I had the chance to talk directly to Emery.
We had a very reasonable conversation like adults. Where we understand this is no good for none of us, we are not getting anywhere like this.
And we don’t need negativity here.

I deleted that post from fb, his friends will take those fake reviews out of google.

He would also like to delete this. Not sure if is possible or not, is something we are trying to figure out.
If is not possible, well no problem.

I want to thank everyone for the support :)

Francesco, I am glad the two of you were able to talk. On 2/2/20 the entire BOI will be deleted.
Prior to that, I am of course merely a member and cannot say for sure what will happen, but up until now, BOI posts are not ordinarily deleted even if ultimately parties come to an understanding, because there is value in seeing how they managed their issues.
For instance, it seems to me as if Emery was not accepting the possibility of personal responsibility for his own actions, and I see no reason why readers should not expect similar behavior from him in the future.
Were I a seller, I would not want to be exposed to the same sort of hostile, rude behavior he showed you and others who participated here, so this thread has real value in providing information that might protect those sellers and the community. They can read the thread, and come to their own conclusions.
 
And of course, more important than buyers and sellers and rude words and baseless accusations, this thread will let future sellers choose whether or not to sell to Emery based on the many excuses he came up with not to get adequate care for his little critter.
As far as we know it is still alive, but even as Emery was saying he didn't want to take the time/spend $ for a vet, the animal deteriorated continually. I'm hoping that it lives now that it was finally taken for a visit, but the pictured animal is pitiful.

I meant your personal problems are not going to change my view on your actions. Obviously, you're having a comprehension problem. Once again, my conclusions were made off of the evidence provided not off of my personal preference or bias. Thanks for your opinions and more insults. I'm sure you're the foremost expert on eggplant riding in your town; you most know what you're talking about...

Thank you, I had no idea. I bet Emery was hoping that this thread would just sink into obscurity, it is ironic that his own rudeness is keeping it where it can be read.
 
Emery was enthusiastically willing to say or repeat the nastiest, most insulting garbage he could find to try to hurt people here. I do not think he realized at the time that future employers mostly do an internet search as a matter of course these days, and just about any place he applies for a job will see this thread in their search.
 
Perhaps his future possible boss will be gay, and ask Emery to explain why he used the eggplant phrase in an obviously disparaging manner. That sort of prejudice is not well received in many modern companies.
