    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I found someone on a website...I think its webclassifieds.com...that is a breeder of ball pythons in Douala, Cameroon. We've been talking for a few days and she has sent me beautiful ( non stock ) photos of her snakes. I'm worried about getting scammed or getting unhealthy snake though. Anyone have any experience or advice?

Thanks

You can get a captive bred one here in the states for the same price.

Some things to think about:

do you have the paperwork from the USDA/DNR to import this animal?
Are you willing to pay the insane amount for shipping across the world (especially for one or two snakes)
Do you have the knowledge to get imports eating? (Not calling you stupid or incompetant, but it's tricky!)
If they come in laden with parasites are you capable of treating them all?

I personally would not recommend doing it :)

Many importers will go to africa the first time to see the first import sent out. If you dealing with cameroon, maybe you should consider doing just that.

Rachel, very simple answer. you can buy the same or better from an American breeder here in the USA. with very little risk and expense.

Do you have a US Fish and Wildlife license to import? there is a long wait for cities paperwork, up to 6 months. :)

Don't do it. My girlfriend and I almost lost $200 dollars buying a Chihuahua for a friend from "Christian Missionaries" in Nigeria we cancelled the payment cause some things didn't add up for me. Oh and they had lots of pictures to show us too. Sure enough when we cancelled the payment we never heard from them again.
