In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

In past 3 years, I had notice something about the Baldy… I has feeling that they are genetic, but what they are, Recessive, Co-dominant or Dominant? I notice, it apparent every other while from normal crossing and wont produce till like F2 but I will doing more testing on Baldy Genetics. I had to bring it up to get some people’s option on baldy theory. I would know it fully once I get a normal female or male without background of baldy and some Bell Albinos that does has baldy background and will see how it acts. If I fully understand about the genetics and I will publish my results by 2007 unless someone done it quicker. As well as, I would like to see results from other person… If anyone wants to join this idea to make out and results then email me at [email protected] or [email protected]. Some of you may know my IM screen name. if you don’t come to www.Coolgeckos.com

Just curious on your thoughts.

Thanks for your time,
Preston Berry

I dont know, I was under the impression the "Baldy" trait came from the Super Hypo Carrotail line(?). So far I think those are a true hypomelanistic since they have lighter eyes and are lacking melanin on most of the body.

It seems very dominant from our results with the Mack Snow cross. The Hypo Mack Snows look more like Super Hypos, even a bit of CT on some. There was someone here that produced Hypos from Ray Hines line X WC. They also make the Albino lines look like SHCT`s, so Ide say its dominant over these other traits.

I have a feeling a Baldy may be a "Super" form of Hypo though. That would mean, that the ones we call Super Hypos, are not Supers unless they were bald. Not saying that is the case, but no Baldies were produced with one Baldy parent and one from non Hypo lines.

This year I will breed the Hypo Snows together and see if any Baldies are produced. I will also breed the Hypo Snow male to a Baldy and see what is the outcome. This will be a small scale test so will not be completely reliable. But Im thinking I will see Baldies from both of those breedings. And would not see Baldies if I used the non-Hypo Snow again. :shrug01:

Anyone out there produce Baldies with only one Baldy parent?

Yeah.. We are thinking the same on the Co-dominant! Only breeding will tell… I don’t care how small but I will add other records with accurate information of gecko's background with good details and make into one to publish the information and the chance of making baldy… I produced one baldy het for bell out of 4 and bell male was just a Tangerine Bell Albino and some of original. I will need to talk Kelli about that male; I got him from her to double check the background. All I know Kelli introduced the Hypo Tangerines into Bells in 2000 but I want some more information like did she introduced the Baldy at same time or was the Hypo Tangerine came from Hines line. It may have to do with the Hines bloodline being the super form?

By the way, I will be breeding my SHCTB to the same Bell Albino male and breed some non-Hines and some Hines with Bell Albino Male to see what the genetics are. I believe someone had crossed SHCT into WC… If this person is reading, who had done it and please share information if you can.

Thanks,
Preston

I produced a mostly? baldy from no baldy parents. I bred a Petco SHCT to a hypo tang from garrick and out of 7 babies, one has very weird spots on his head. At times, when he is happy and warm, he has no head spots, and he most def looks like a baldy. When he is cold or stressed, he does get some very light brown spots showing on his head. I will be breeding the same pair again this year, and if you remind me, I can let you know if I get any more baldies. On a sorta related topic, anyone else ever hear of this mostly bald?

Yep, some people are calling them 'near baldy'. The baldies themselves can actually grow spots on the head after breeding too.
