In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

alright, i am not a big collector :shrug01: and just started to touch into the pastel morphs this year. I look on line and there is tons of morphs out there (i am sure that some are just new names for the same thing). the biggest problem that i have is SEEING  the morph for myself. Mainly the Axanthic. some i can tell obviously white and greyish. but others just look normal to me. am i looking at the right thing?? or is it the pics that i am looking at?? I know that the Axanthic is a lose of the yellowish pigment, but to me the Brown should fall in this category....right?? i see these snake for sale and they look normal to me... what am i no seeing?? or am i looking for the Perfect Axanthic??

The gray and black looking ones are axanthic, but since it's a recessive trait chances are the normal looking ones are het axanthics. With morphs it's all about your personal preference, so don't buy something just because it's a "x" morph if you can't tell the difference or don't like it.

Pastels are an awesome morph because they can go with anything. I'm picking up a pastel het hypo in November and can't wait.

Thanks for the inputs and i will look into that book. i have only seen one kind of axanthic that i thought was true to me... or atleast i like. and yes i am really happy with the male pastel i just got. i received him from Brendan Saffron, whom i would like to say thanks to real fast he was worth the wait and search that it took me to find one that iw as looking for. anyhow, thanks for the inputs.

I want a mojave, super mojave.....Then a pied.

it use to be the other way around but i REALLY like the mojaves

Another great book was put out by VPI that goes into great detail about the ball python and its morphs. I haven't gotten it yet, but I do plan to. Just go to vpi.com and its pretty much at the top of their home page. I can tell you it will be well worth looking into.

Looks like a good book, I just ordered one. I'll let you know.

I received my "Pythons of the World, Volume II" by David G. Barker and Tracy M. Barker today. I only skimmed it, all I can say, buy it. It covers about anything you can think of concerning BP's.

Get it.

Can you combine dom with co-dom traits? Or do-dom with co-dom? I've tried to think of any, can't seem to.
Spider x pastel? Combining recessives I get.

The Bees

Yep. A spider x pastel = bumble bee

spider x lesser = lesser bee (these are what I'm going for this year)

It's just a matter of getting the right combination of genes in a single snake. Hope that helped.

cheers,
Kat

Good luck on the Lesser Bee. I saw one at Hamburg over the weekend. Beautiful animal. Absolutely gorgous. It was at Big Daddy Reptiles table. They wanted $25,000.

Thanks! Just don't mention Big Daddy's. I get slightly homicidal about that guy.

cheers,

You should visit his BOI thread.

I was wondering: there are "super" versions of some co-dom genes, like super pastel. Is there a super spider?

So far, it's pretty much common belief that the spider is a dominate (not co-com) morph, with no super form.
