In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ball Python Won't Eat F/T

yeah I usually put 12 larges, about 16 medium or around 20 small in there and go about my way for 15 minutes. I put the light over one side then switch sides as I am feeding the other side out. Really helps speed things up when feeding over 100 snakes.

It's the all new rodent easybake oven.

Sounds like a really good, inventive idea. What I use to thaw, I call my "rat crock pot".

You can also try putting the mouse/rat in a zip lock bag, so they aren't wet. My boas will take a prey item that gets wet but some of the bp's I have on f/t won't. lol Some times the little things make a difference. :) I will also heat the head of the mouse/rat on a light bulb for 15 sec. Just worked on a tiny super pastel baby two days ago.
They are also thinking about breeding right now, so you could be in for a wait. Good luck.

Have you tried heating the food up in the microwave for a few seconds? Or putting the rodent under a heating lamp? If you re-create body heat on the rodent it may be enough to entice him to eat. Beautiful butter btw!

only thing about the microwave is depending on the temp of the rat it will explode and make a disgusting and smelly mess. It will only heat the exterior of the rat which means it cools much faster. Buy using a heat source and lamp above you slowly bring the entire rat to temp and use the light for a quick heat signature pump up. Even this method though you stand a chance of heating too much and oh they smell when they break open.

Please... do not heat rodents up in the microwave. Yuck. just... yuck. Hot water will do, or a hair dryer as stated!

LOL maybe that is why your spider is wagging her tail Kelsie..to get the smell of microwaved rats out of the air lmao  only playing :D

LOL maybe! I've only used the microwave as an absolute last resort and only for a few seconds. Works almost every time because it heats the rodent and thins the skin, making it smell more enticing for the snake. But it is a dead last resort!

The main problem with microwaves, IMO, is that you can microwave a rat and it might feel warm on the outside, but could be "hot pocket" hot on the inside. This would end up burning the snakes insides pretty bad. I also heard something about cooked meat not being healthy for snakes? Not sure about that one but sometimes I can't even defrost ground beef without cooking at least a little :D

LOL well if I even attempted to stick a rat in the microwave my mother would murder me on the spot.

So far in using the blow dryer method I got an interested strike out of him, which is unusual since he usually just hides away. I think since he saw me out of his hide it made him lose interest in it. However, this has given me hope, so today for feeding day I'm gonna try again and make sure I'm completely out of his view.

Wish me luck!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I got a strike, tag, and coil XD. He snatched it up immediately when I fake scuttled it into his hide and he's coiled around it now. I nearly danced in happiness lol I'll check in an hour to make sure he swallowed it.
