@ laterob. The timers do not freeze. The entire site freezes. You should understand that when you look at a page you are not looking directly whats on the server. The page, even this one is downloaded to your computer and then reconstructed. Your computer will then download a new page when you click a link. When BB site freezes, so do the timers and since you are looking at a cached page on your computer, and the timer is the only active part of the page, it only LOOKS like the timer froze. this is the mistake people are commenting on. If, while the site is frozen due to an attack that has used up available memory or overclocked the cpu, you try to click a link or refresh the page, you would wait and wait and wait till the request timed out, ususally around 3 minutes and then you would see the error page. The attacks only happen when bidding is heavy because thats when it has the most effect. Even though the site freezes, the server clock controling the timer is still running and when the attack stops the auction is over. Hope that helps
