Did you check that camera data? If it's the same, he's knowingly changing backgrounds on the pictures to try and hide his identity. Some guys, all their photos they post have a certain look to 'em, ya know?

Let's see ... Someone who knowingly supports guys the rest of the community doesn't want around, and knowingly changes backgrounds in photo shoots so as to keep his identity secret because he KNOWS what he's doing is wrong and reeks of being a money-grubber. All shady stuff. Though I guess we shouldn't be surprised with his, ahem, background and other business. They're all peddling flesh. He fits right in with the Lyers family!

Yes I did check exif but all sites and programs i tried found nothing cause it was uploaded to FB and then saved from FB. My guess FB deletes the exif data. I'm sure there is a program out there that could go deeper than the free online ones and pull it!

I'm not here to bash him, its just posted so people are aware of where the snakes are coming from. I personally would never buy not knowing where its coming from to be sure its coming from a well kept setup.

But for him to do what he did, just speaks volumes!

If anyone deserves one it's him... But I kinda like iHerp's style, what you say is permanent... Even if you delete the blog or posts made on your blog it's still in the emails, so if you try to back pedal or cover your tracks you'll just look like a fool. Every once in a great while I get an email notification because he went and dug up one of the old ball bids threads again. It's actually kind of sad to watch someone grasp at straws like that.


And yea I do agree, if you are doing something that you are so certain people will ostracize you for that you try to cover it up... Shame on him. It's kid of hypocritical, to support their cause, but at the same time try to hide that you are doing so. It kid of says something about ball bids though. Even their own supplier doesn't want to be publicly associated with them...

Is he not proud to be supporting these guys and proud of his animals? Or is it just a kinda on the downlow thing and no one's supposed to know?

After Rich's posts yesterday, he went and deleted a bunch of pictures. Good thing a ton of screenshots were gotten beforehand.

Zack has stated multiple times that his goal was to help breeders get rid of the stuff that wasn't selling, yet he continues to have polls of what the customer wants instead of what he stated. He continues to lie, not only to us but to his customers.

I am having a hard time wrapping my head around Mark Petros' decision to sell to Zack. Not only sell to him but then try to hide it. I know he's been viewing this thread and I would like to hear his reasons for backing such a horrible company.

to play devil's advocate, perhaps ballbids specifically requested the pictures on a white background for use on the website. I'm not saying it might not be something shady (since you said the breeder is also deleting a bunch of stuff).. just throwing it out there. speculation and all

I am interested in hearing from Mark Petros too.....I bought 1 ball from him a few years back and he had no intentions of giving me any sort of deal and made it clear that all his snakes would always sell in time for the price he set. It just took patience, according to him. I hope his mental state is good. He has a ton of animals and it would be a shame if he is now dumping them at low prices. He taught me personally to hold to your guns when it came to pricing. What a shame.

Well, we don't know the whole story and it's not always as black and white as we see it. Who knows, maybe he simply really needed some money, is in a tight spot and lowered his standards. When you are in need, or sometimes even just want, it can cloud your judgement. Suddenly you find yourself doing something you would never have done. Perhaps he has made an error in judgement, but we have all made errors in judgement at some point. I think that he should at least be given the chance to give his reasons, and well you can't exactly blame him for not wanting people to know. It's a little odd that he just up and blocked people but hey, again... Spur of the moment anger. He realized that someone actually took the time to sift through his photos and it upset him. It isn't going to change the fact that everyone knows though, so better to just own up to it and move on. Personally nothing could get me to sell to ballbids knowingly.... What if they have a third party buyer and he doesn't know? Although then he probably wouldn't have blocked anyone.

Anyways I guess what I'm saying is, I don't think he should be ostracized from the herp community just like that... At least not yet.

As much as I detest the way Ballbids is running its business, I would want to hear more about this person before coming to a conclusion.

To My understanding from this exact thread BB said they no longer keep the snakes on hand. Yet buy from the Supplier and drop ships to the winner! So that would mean Mark is shipping to BB winners.

YES, I have sold ball pythons to Zack @ Ball Bids. He has been in business for over a year and I`ve sold him a grand total of FOUR animals. These FOUR animals were sold for my full asking price. I am by no means his sole or even main supplier of animals.
I took pictures on a white background, not to hide, but at Zack`s request because that is the "look" that he prefers for his website. Thank you April for considering this as a plausible explanation.
My limited dealings with Zack and his customers have been smooth and uneventful. I spend very little time on online forums and I was really surprised to find a 168 page thread concerning this topic.
Everyone has the right to voice their opinions and/or concerns. I just hope that 12 years of hard work and excellent reviews arent tainted because I sold FOUR snakes at full price to someone that you guys arent fond of.
That`s about all I have to say. I have no intention of getting involved in any long drawn out internet debates.

I have bought from Petros before and I don't think it really helps us as the reptile community to go after a breeder who sold a few snakes to them. All that really matters as showing Ballbids potential customers how they react to negative publicity.

While that is true, BallBS can only do what it does because people are willing to supply the animals that they apparently don't have the ability to produce on their own. If one considers them the enemy, it may be hard to count the friends of enemies as one's own friends.
