• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry [email protected] - Something smells fishy...

The Nigerian scammers often post these on all sorts of local craigslist. Dogs, cats, electronics, snakes, anything they can offer to get the money sent to them. Many times they'll just outright try to get your banking information, instead of "just" trying to get that Western Union money.

Good for you for being suspicious. Usually when you offer to go pick up, they give up. He's a smarter one.

Oh yeah this is totally a scam.... I never used western union at all always paypal or usps money order... hopefully noone will fall this scam

I'd say keep playing with him. The more time he is messing with you.. the less time he has to find someone that MAY fall for his BS.

Oh yeah, I been replying and even "sent" a Western Union money order to em (fake # of course). He's saying my animals are going to go out tomorrow (awesome! I wonder how hard it was to find a carrier who will ship on a Sunday??), so if you're interested I'll post the rest of the conversation. It's certainly been something else...

Basically, I dont buy anything on Craigslist unless I can meet the person face to face. Craigslist is full of morons and scammers. Just by the way that person put words and sentences together I can tell it was a scam. Whats funny about the whole thing is they kept saying to ship in an electronic styro box? What the hell is that? Damn, people are so stupid in this society!

For those wondering what an electronic styro box is here's the answer. It's a styrofoam box used for shipping sensitive electronic equipment. Normally the styrofoam is fitted to what is being shipped so the item does not get bounced around and it's also treated so it does not build up static electricity. Completely useless in shipping a live animal. Sorry about being off topic just wanted to end the confusion.

I cant resist.... can you see these scammers trying to figure out a way to form fit the styro for the snake

You know what I think, there should be a scammer bounty hunting crew who actually have the authority to go find these jokers and turn them over to authorities!!!:yesnod: After roughing them up a little of course!!!lol;) Just from what I've seen and read on these boards these people just get away with this stuff for the most part.

That's why the BOI is so valuable.. The community that shares this site are always looking out for one another! We are Family and we'll stick together to help each other out and blast the scammers apart. This guy has been weeded out so hopefully people will do their research because "If it's too good to be true... It probably is" :)

:iagree:

There is also a scam up, I think, on our Craigslist.. But not for snakes..
for Parrots.. and their eggs.. The ad has similar English to the person in this scam.

Does it do any good to contact Craig's list with this info. Maybe they will at least pull that one ad so no one else in your area gets hosed?

Alright, well, the game's come to an end. Either through the help of someone else, or through the scammer's own research, he found the thread and insists that he'll be seeing me in court  Righto. Anyway, I'm going to compile the last, er, 20 some odd e-mails and post them here, just for amusement's sake. The ad is gone from Craigslist, but I'm certain he'll be back.
