In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was involved in a trade with Mr. Watkins. First of all he prolonged it was on and then off and then he said it was a go. When we got her she was actually painted purple!:( HE said she was one of bloodbanks purples and that she was a leatherback and she was clearly not. I have learned my lessen though. I did receive pictures of her but i guess i didn't look close enough. The signs were there but i see them all in hind sight. Be aware of Mac/baseball beardies/ and [email protected]. When i got her i had the same color to mark my babies.

Little unsure of what your talking about....pics of the beardie would help...both the sellers that you had gotten from him and pics you took yourself after getting the beardie....also all emails and contacts you had with this person where he claims her blood lines

He claims it was purple calci sand. It didn't come off when bathed though. He told me he got her from blood bank but Barry said he didn't sell him a purple. But he told me now that he got it from a guy that got it from bloodbank. She is only 7 inches though. Looking back closer at the pics I can see that she was not a leather in the pics but she looked purple but not painted. I don't know, I guess I learned my lesson and just be careful. After all of that she is a nice healthy dragon just don't think she is what he is claiming she is.

I've dealt with Mac and I only know him to be a good guy. I got 2 beautiful leopard Geckos from him, that are healthy and producing eggs. He was patient when I had a MAJOR crisis delay the deal. I would deal with him again.

Please post all your evidence. I will make Mac aware of this thread.

FYI, we picked up a dragon from someone local here. It was kept on Pink Calcisand. Well, poor Pinky (her name has stuck) didn't become Un-Pink until she shed it off, so NO, it will not WASH off, but should SHED off just fine. Please don't accuse someone of PAINTING an animal when YOU aren't even aware of the possible effects of a common reptile substrate.

Purple Calcium sand does stain for quite a few sheds!!
Thats the Gods honest truth and I dont even know this person just wanted to give opinion

My son in law keeps his Dragons in colored calcium sand Blue and it totally took the pretty out of all his beardies it was a lesson learned use newspaper.I am still soaking and scrubbing blue off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need proof of this. Photos of the dragon in question, any correspondence with the seller and with barry. photos of the animal that you received showing the difference from what you thought you were getting and what you got.

also, what did you trade him for value wise? I know this is a tad off topic but unless the value of your trade was 1000+ you should have known you were not getting a bloodbank purple line trans.

"The Bad Guy"

Yes i have learned a lesson as well and am changing all my purple calcium sand to white calcium sand for adults and newspaper for the babies. As i told the Bodeah's i got her from a repticon columbia show and this is what the guy told me she was and that she was from bloodbank dragons. I sent them a picture of her clearly showing her scaling and that it wasnt very smooth like other leathers are. I never guarenteed that what the guy told me was right, but you could diffantely tell she was a hypo trans. I offered the bodeahs a return if they are not happy. Im trying to get this worked out but so far they dont seem to want a refund. Here is a picture of one of my dragons in purple sand.

Mac, can you post the emails that transpired between you and the OP with headers?

I see that i am going to be attacked here, I agree for me to think it was paint was a tired and not well thought through thing. I was told she was a leatherback and obviously didn't look close enough because she is clearly not in the picture. They are the ones he sent me. I apologize for the slander, i know a few people that use the purple and green sand and i have never seen their beardies like that so this is the first i have seen it. I did state that she was a good looking dragon and that she was healthy. It was a weird transaction in my opinion, he really wanted me to send first and that made me think he was hiding something. I don't have much more to say at this point.

This is Scott's wife, and the fact that people are thinking we're stupid for not knowing it was from sand are sadly mistaken, obviously the second we saw her we knew it was artificial in some way.. I'm pretty sure the sand has the same dyes as the paint.. He obviously didn't "paint" her,( but how much better is it when you don't tell someone why she is purple, when she's clearly not!) but We thought we we're getting a high quality dragon with blood bank lines and purple color.. we thought the pictures we're just emphasizing the purple.. Ive seen many pictures that turn out different colors depending on the lights around and such.. this is straight from an email that made us want the trade: "This girl is a hypo translucent leather female at 2 months and 6". Has real nice yellows and green with blue bars. I purchased her for 1000 dollars at bloodbank she is from the purple translucents and has a full purple under her tail and beard. " So.. I don't see anywhere that says she was purchased through a second party or that she is rougher than usual..(once again, it's hard to tell the smoothness in a picture, since it's almost straight on) so, no we don't want a refund and we're not trying to ruin his life, BUT he did LIE, no way around it! I'm just not understanding how it's been turned around to make us villains when we did NOTHING wrong.. Our dragon we traded with him is EXACTLY what we told him!

This is the picture from Mac (top):

So once again, straight from his email: ,"This girl is a hypo translucent leather female at 2 months and 6". Has real nice yellows and green with blue bars. I purchased her for 1000 dollars at bloodbank she is from the purple translucents and has a full purple under her tail and beard"

The second and third pictures are what she looked like when we got her out of the box..

It is slightly misleading that the dragon was described as being from a high quality purple line, and just so happened to be "temporarily dyed" purple from calcisand. I would think that detail might have been mentioned after sending them the pictures. The fact that the major purple colors showing weren't actually her natural colors, were just the result of staining from the sand.
I've seen lighter colored snakes that sometimes will get ink from news paper rubbed off on them, and if it shows up in a picture, then the seller will usually explain what caused the different color.
It just seems kind of.... convenient that a purple line dragon get stained a brilliant purple by its sand and it isn't mentioned that the dragons color is no where near that purple.

I don't remember that, but this is what I do remember, "I purchased her for 1000 dollars at bloodbank she is from the purple translucents and has a full purple under her tail and beard"
