In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi everyone, can anyone offer me advice on my following problem?

In March of 2003 I purchased 1.3 100% het albino ball python hatchlings form BCN Reptile ( Bryan Neville) in Waukesha WI for $2000. The 1.3 100% het albinos where produced by Richard Miller ( Millersnakes). At the time of purchase I was sent pics via email of the animals in question and documentation was supplied to me upon arrival of the animals.

A year later I realized that in fact I did not receive 1.3 but it was 2.2! I decided to cut my losses and get over it.

Now........ as of this month (October) 3 years later I have proved out the 2 females that I bread to an albino.

Out of 12 eggs I hatched out NO albinos. Which only means that the 100% het albinos I purchased from Bryan were normal animals.

Can anyone give me any advice on what I maybe able to do at this point?

Thanks Tom

Yes, I have called his cell phone and left a message with no return call as of yet. A far as Richard Miller I have no info on him. There are some posts on BOI regarding him and they are not good.

Well, Tom, all I can suggest is that you keep trying to contact them and that they make good on the snakes...

You had a guarantee from which party about the genetics (if at all)?

Tom, I think you likely got screwed, but one breeding won't prove that as statistically you still may have missed on the odds. If you bred the two females to a visual Albino that still only gave you a 50% chance per egg of getting an Albino. That being said, I feel your pain; in 2003 I bought a pair of "100% Het. Albino" from Sean Brady (Prestigious Designs) and bred the female last year to my Albino, 5 eggs, no albinos. Granted I could have missed on the odds and I'll try again this year, but when you take into account that others purchased hets from the same person that I did, and none have seemed to produce Albinos, along with the fact that he disappeared about 6 months after selling to everyone, my hopes of proving her to be a true het are not very high.

There isn't a lot you can do other than letting people know your experience and warning them. If the seller doesn't want to back up his guarantee there isn't much you can do, legally you would have a very difficult time proving that they aren't hets. Unfortunately, paperwork on the snakes is only as good as the word of the person who signed the papers.

I went a read an old thread about Richard Miller, but it never said if the hets proved out. Did they? Is there a thread I am missing?

Tom,
The proving-out of het scams is becoming an almost weekly occurrence here. As mentioned by several others, you have very few legal options that are worth even half the effort. The amount of ill-gained money selling het-balls is beginning to dwarf the imagination. Don't know that there will be another gold-rush on some new herp morphs and hets in the future, but to those of you who want to "save" a few shekels by going with some unknown breeder/supplier, rather than someone with a verified track record ....... it is inevitable that some folks never learn. Small start-up breeders are at a disadvantage when selling on trust, and that's just tough, cause trust is earned, not assumed. In the immortal words of the great Romulus Maximus, aka Ronald Reagan, with a twist, "trust only if you can verify".
