In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Last week I ordered 12 adult leopard geckos from William patterson of Crazy Fox Exotics.  I assumed they would be healthy.
I opend the box to find all of them packed into one pillow case.  some had cut, ruptured, and infected eyes, everted and dried hemipenes, rectal prolapse, severely dehydrated,  all bones including skull detail visible through the skin, only 2 of them are now feeding on wax worms since they are all to weak to eat crickets, they were all covered in feces upon arrival, all of them have diareah, etc. etc. etc.  the list goes on and on...
I told him of my disatisfaction,  he said " you got those geckos at a bargain price" (550.00$ is what I paid for them)  "they must be a little dehydrated from the heat packs in shipment" was his excuse.

Please help me do what I can...

YIKES
and that's almost $50 a piece--that aint no "bargain price" for leopards these days--i've been seeing high end albinos going for that much these days.
instead of sending your sick leopards to a vet you sell them instead.  do you know what your vet bills would be for all those animals?
where was he posting these?
I'm very sorry for you and the geckos.

That's a shame. All I can think of is how did you pay? Paypal or credit. then you should be able to get your money back.

What I do when dealing with someone for the first time. I order one animal to see how they ship and animal qulity. I know this cost alittle extra money, but in the long run I believe it pays off.

As for all the sick leopard gecks instead of water give them pedialyte. To try and get them back on thier feet. If they have the runs you need to get that stoped right away because with any small animal they can dehidrate fast and die. And there is always force feeding, but with leopard geckos you need to have another person. After you've force fed a Leo a snake seems like cake. Good luck and thank you for the heads up.

On the force feeding, I've found out that meat baby foods don't work well for Leos. Thier digestive tracks don't seem to be able to break it down. So I use wax worms and add some medacation to kill the bactiera that would be causeing them to have the runs.

I tried all this on 6 baby Leopard geckos I got that were in the same shape your's are in, they weighed 4 grams. And I was only able to save one of them.

The only difference is I was shipped replacements. Which arrived healthy and now are growing like weeds. I wish you the best of luck with them.

Once thay start feeding on thier own it's all up hill from there.

Yes I have been doin my best with them for the last 3 days since they arrived.  each is separated in it's own 10 gal. tank, with news paper and cardboard hidouts and a few very shallow water dishes in each.  the room they are in is kept at a constant 83 degrees, and I am only offering wax worms to the worst ones and de-jumpinleged crickets to the slightly healthier ones.  The humidity is being kept fairly high since most of them have dysecdesis (shedding problems).  the wax worms have a fairly high fat content so that may help put some weight on the thinner ones that are eating.  I had to amputate the everted dried hemipene on the large male who is otherwise healthy but blind in one eye (possible cricket bites) The pedialyte is also making a difference.

Paul...I give you a lot of credit, man! Instead of harping on that LOW-DOWN, SCUM-SUCKING, PATHETIC EXCUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING...(which I would NEVER do&#33<img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>, you're taking fantastic care of those poor little Leo's....GOOD FOR YOU!! You put his name out there....that's all we need to know in order to take  extra precautionary measures before dealing with him! You did a good thing! Thanks! ....Neil

I agree with Dana, you were charged aproximately retail for not one, but 12 normal leos.  I paid only $50 for my adult at a pet shop and figured I was paying too much, but I know the people and they stand behind their animals and have to make a profit.  My hat is off to you for your efforts.

well, they were not all normals.  the deal was approx. 6 high yellows, an albino or two, hets, and some hypos.  I only recieved some low end high yellows that are almost dead and the rest are normal but also nearly dead.

fortunately some more of them are taking wax worms, and a couple have swallowed a few force fed waxys too.  I expect most of them to turn around, but I also expect to lose a few more.

He had the nerve to tell me that I got a bargain at that price, and all I need to do is give them a little TLC and they will be ready for breeding this season.

He failed to mention the (require a "little" TLC)  before I sent the money order.

Wow! That really sucks.  Well, here is my experience with Crazy Fox Exotics.  I wanted a few animals he had for sale. He didn't have paypal and I told him I only paid by paypal.  He then told me he would set up an account.  Cool, so far.  I told him what animals I wanted and asked for the total.  He emailed me telling me the total. Cool, so far. I asked him if (before I had a chance to pay) when he would ship.  He said after he received my payment he would "process" my order to see if all the animals were there and package it and ship it.  Huh?  This led me to believe he didn't have any animals and that he would get whatever he could get and ship that.  Brokers are cool, but he told me he had an actual business and that the animals were in his possession.  Well, I got a bad feeling from the guy and jumped ship.  In hindsight, I am glad I did.  Sorry my hindsight has come at your expense.  I posted an inquiry about this company but didn't receive any feedback. This further caused me to cease anymore communication with this guy.
One more thing, the site that this guy posted his classifieds on is shady too.   It isn't the webmasters fault but there are a lot of jacka@#s posting on it.  Like some guy who was selling het for albino ball pythons for 100 bucks.  That guy landed himself on this board as a badguy in case you were wondering.
