• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Bean Farm Bad News

Perhaps whoever it was that handled the dispute should have looked into it more thoroughly at the start. Or if it was just an employee, he or she should have offered to put Giovanni or Paula in touch with the customer immeadiatly. But to be fair it was the customer that filled out the order form wrong in the first place, which caused the transaction to not go through. If he had filled it out correctly the incident never would have happened either.

I don't think the OP did anything wrong by airing his complaint here but this is a public forum and once that was done BF had every right to respond publicly.

yes your right they have every right to go public but they got to much deatil going on that ethically shouldnt have been spoken , and if they wanted to go public , the public is here where the OP posted it !!!!! they shouldnt have went public to a friend and let alone a child .. if they had something they needed to say well this is where it should have been said by them ..

Unless I missed something, the customer didn't necessarily make a mistake on the order. What was said was that the credit card processor is very sensitive, and, if everything doesn't match, it will reject the order. That could be anything from an address being different than the one on record, to the wife using her name when both are required, to whatever else.
I tend to agree that Bean Farm made a poor choice in discussing the details with Luc. If they were going to explain, that explanation should have gone to the customer.....or, if they wanted to make a public response, they could have posted for themselves. I understand a business that doesn't actively promote themselves through forums not feeling compelled to post a response....but, that doesn't mean they should offer explanations to the first random person that raises the subject. Granted, they didn't disclose personal information about the customer (as far as we know), but it just doesn't sit quite right.

OK I'll conceed there. I misquoted that statment.

All that info is supplied by the customer and can only be kept current if the customer informs them of a change so I don't see anything in your example that would make it BF's fault.

The main point I was trying to make was that BF did nothing inappropriate in discussing the matter with Luc. If what BF said to Luc would have been ok to say here, then it is ok to say it to Luc. We here are just as much a third party as Luc.

I was really surprised to see this thread. I've been doing business with the Bean Farm for at least 14 years and I have never had a bad experience with them. They support the local herp community as well as providing quality products at good prices.

I was really surprised to see this thread.

Heres another surprise for you. Your real full name, first and last, is required on posts in the BOI forum. Surprise!

I think you owe me $5 now

Critical Bill I'll let you throw a rock at me for $5 as long as I can pick the rock.

Have you ever had a pebble..or even a small speck of rock..hit you in the eye? Remember how irritating it was? The more you rubbed the more it hurt?

You would be amazed what I can do with the smallest of pieces of gravel.

Pick the rock, pick the place, and I'll pick the distance.

Get ready to shop for a cane.

Fun is fun, but I don't see this as relative to the thread in any way. Feel free to continue your banter in another section.
