• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Beardie check-ups

After much research and debating, I have decided that I'm getting a Beardie. My only question is how much I can expect to pay for a check-up on my Beardie? I'm getting him or her from the local pet store and just about everywhere I've checked says that they should get a check-up and stool sample check. If that's not a necessity then please correct me. but if it is a necessity how much will it run me? I'm a teenager and while I have a job it's not nearly enough to spend more than $150 or so on a single check-up. Someone help please?

Good that you are checking into these things beforehand. As they do need checkups from time to time, or you may run into an illness, you just have to plan. If the husbandry is good, etc, hopefully you wont have any problems.
A checkup usually consists of just a routine health check, which is an office visit that should run around $50 or so. It depends on your area, it could run a bit more or less.
A checkup may or may not include an x-ray or bloodwork. Usually, that is saved for when it is really needed, but it is up to you. I always recommend a fecal as they are usually only around $15-25.
