• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Well since retiring July 31st I decided to get house in order. 40 years in one place with 4 kids and wife. Full walk up attic and basement literally loaded to the gills. Started in basement and able to re arrange stuff. Ended throwing out around 30 construction bags of stuff. Ordered heavy duty clear zipper bags for bedding. Wife took care of that.

Attic was something else. You couldn't even go up steps. Been 12 - 15 years since I went up. Literally 130 construction bags and over 200 broken down boxes. Old furniture, old style tv and air conditioner along with misc beds, tables, toys . I had Got Junk haul out heavy stuff. They send 2 big kids over and you point and they take out. Oh, I had 3 rat breeding cages, a bucket of old tools, 1 bag of old cloths and a box of old paperbacks. Everything else was wife and kids.

Put shelving up in attic and put all bedding there, clearing out basement even more. Now when wife and I pass or move attic will take maybe an hour to clear and basement maybe 2. A little more clean up in next few days and should be done. Next is closets and pantry. Next spring is the shed. Feels good.
 
Heck, most of the time I get the urge to clean up any room, I wind up picking something up, look for a better place to put it (better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it) and wind up just setting it back down in exactly the place it had been sitting for years. I really need to tackle a lot of stuff, but darn I find it really tough to throw things away. I kept the stuff for a reason, although I have no idea what that reason was at the time.
