    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Aug 13th I won an auction on a group of leos (3.3) mixed morphs. I saw pictures of the animals before I bid, however what I ended up getting was a group of rescues. :slamit: I thought you all might like to see some before and after pictures..(Please excuse the turd in the photo!) Please keep in mind that it has only been 1 month.
Isn't it amazing what will happen when you feed your animals!!!:>poke2<:
Bunghole..:hot:

Wow I am still amazed evertime I see pictures of leos before and after. Ido not know the morphs of geckos but that is a cool looking animal. Sorry you were taken on them as being morphs, but he sure morphed his color and design.

what he misrepresented has the condition of the animals themselves! Look how skinny that male is!! (1st one high yellow) That is disgusting! he should be smacked around!:uzi: The pictures he used when he advertised them must have been taken when he first got them animals is my guess..or when he WAS feeding them... I did lose one albino female..she was too far gone..

That disgusts me that you got the animals in that condition. It disgusts me even more that they were SOLD to you in that condition. Losing any animal due to obvious neglect on the seller's part is unacceptable. Are there any steps being taken to prevent others from purchasing animals from this person?

I did notify the seller, questioned him about the same the animals were in and that I thought one was not going to make it (which she did in fact later die)..needless to say, he acted SURPRISED!!:>poke2<: I explained to him that I could not get the animals to eat at first (which was TRUE!) and to please let me know what he was feeding them and how often..his response was a bunch of bull..there is no way he was feeding the animals the way he was claiming..I MEAN LOOK HOW MUCH WEIGHT THEY GAINED IN ONE MONTH! and he claimed he was feeding every other day...he never left feedback for me and dissapeared off the website.
It is my fault for trusting a "Joe Smoe" a not a reputable, established breeder/seller..but as you can see they are doing great now...all it takes is food, water and vitamins..not really hard:>poke2<:

Wow... I can't believe he tried to use old pictures to sell his skinny leos online :( I'm glad that you were able to get them up in weight, even though one of them had unfortunately passed away. If it took 1 month to get their tails that much bigger, then that guy obviously lied about feeding him frequently. I just think it's good that the leos are in MUCH better hands!

Okay, I see the problem now, like I said I know as much about Leo's as I do about camels. At least I can see you have taken the care to fatten him up. I will go sit in my corner now :dunce:

I so hear you on the TLC thing.... we rescued a fat tail from a shop, he was being beaten up by his tank mates and was a scrawny jumpy little thing... needless to say he's not that now, we got him and he weighed around 30ish grams ( adult btw ) he now weighs in at the 75 gram mark....

Great job, the albino looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone (warm fuzzies!):scatter:

They seemed to be getting bigger to me and I see them every day, so I pulled up the old pictures from the computer to compare...I was shock to see such a difference in just one month! so I thought I would share..it does just show you that in such little time it took to put the weight on them..that guy must have been STARVING them! sad....

I am SO glad you have them now Michele, so even if the guy was trying to rip you off, at least the leopards got a new lease on life (and a very spoiled lease at that!) :) I just get mad at these people selling lizards that are so obviously on their death bed, especially when it's false advertising! Gives us reputable breeders a bad name.
