PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Hello! I wanted some suggestions on what type of turtle I should get for my situation. I’ve never owned turtles before but I have reptile experience from a snake and a fair amount of freshwater fish experience. I bought a canister filter that pumps 200-300gph (I previously planned on buying a 40g breeder) which I guess acts as my size restriction as I don’t want to spend too much more on filtration if I don’t have to. I wouldn’t want a turtle that’ll regularly require water changes more than every three days or so with this filter, but I do have some floor space to work with.

My local shelter always has some Red Eared Sliders which would be ideal, but the biggest “tank” I can get is a 110gallon tub (would a 10g difference be a huge problem? I hear that the ideal size is 120) but I worry about filtration on a budget.

Thanks for any suggestions!
