    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

BEL paradox hatching

Ben Siegel produced a paradox Ivory a week or so ago from a Yellow Belly bred to a proven not yellow belly this year. I had also originally only expected paradoxes showing types that would normally be expected from the breeding under the theory that the paradox is caused by two complete siblings merging. But someone pointed out that there are a lot of different types of chimeras including ones where two sperm fertilize a single egg. Perhaps in that scenario two Mojave sperm somehow made parts of this baby BEL. Very freaky!

I just read about it on Wiki, to satisfy my curiosity :)
Indeed it can be caused by two sperm fertilizing one egg. Its pretty interesting :D I wonder if this is how some of our "codom" animals started? * i dont know, but genetics is such a great topic to talk about!*

That's interesting stuff Randy. It's possible that the 'normal' is a het, but when I saw it this morning, the only thing I could think of was that somehow two mojave sperm fertilized an egg, then one's dna somehow merged with the egg to produce a sort of partial homozygous clone. The female's owner, Jeff Flanagan, will be breeding her to his lesser this year, so I guess only time will tell what's going on here.

I would be interested in what the father of this clutch produces next year. What will he be paired with?

Unfortunately nothing. He died late into this breeding season after fathering at least four clutches of all normal pairings. I hatched a 5 egg clutch last week with 2 mojos, 2 normals and 1 boob egg mojo that died in the egg. After this 7 egg clutch I have 11 more eggs incubating and one more nice big womaish female that looks like she might go this year, but she was also bred to a pastel and possibly a spider. We should have plenty of his offspring to raise up.

Here it is, in all it's spectacularness.

Thanks everyone! I just popped her as a female, but until I confirm that I'm only about 90%. I'm almost scared to touch her to be possitive. :D

Congrats Jake. This is very interesting indeed.

I am assuming you are selling her as just a typical Mojave..... what is your paypal addy? Money is on the way. :)

Jake keeps the awesome hatchling. I get the mom back to try to reproduce the magic with my Lesser.
