listen--I deal with kids day in and day out. Good ones, bad ones and everywhere in between. I like kids and most of customers children are great. This little boy was being rude and argumentative. At no point did he say he would have his parents call. When I told him to have them call--he told me that it is not worth the trouble to be able to bid-------I then said fine dont bid-----he then put a post up on his wall with me tagged in it I beleive saying how I wouldnt let him bid, blah blah blah. This is when he messaged me---fine--then I will never buy anything from you to which I replied no you wont and blocked him. Why in the world would you be defending this kids bad behavoir? Aside from everything---we have had NO TRANSACTION. He mouthed off and got blocked and that is no reason for him to post anything up on a public forum. On top of being underage here as well. I am pretty sure you are supposed to be 18 to post on the boi as well.

I don't think it states that in the rules anywhere. Seem's to me your being the bratty one here. You have resorted to name calling and trying to make up rules because you dont want a kid in a business area. And here I thought you were supposed to be the professional.

As Kirk has already learned, the transaction (or lack thereof) that transpired really did not warrant a bad guy thread. I do, however, wish to comment on some of the comments that have been thrown his way. Some of the "big boys" would have a greatly diminished hobby and income if it weren't for all the young people coming up. These kids are our future....why don't we try and give them some useful correction and encouragement without trying to belittle them? It drives me crazy to listen to people who talk about being in this hobby since they were kids, and then go on to treat today's kids like they aren't worth their time.

Kirk, slow down, and try not to take too much to heart....it's hard sometimes, but you'll be better off to leave your pride and feelings out of the equation at times. Best of luck.

Im willing to say that Steven Katz sbk94 is yet still a child if he's 18 its barely 18 yet his words seem to be that of the wise when a child gets involved in matters of an adult situation theres more then likely going to be a not so clean mess at the end of it... As you can see in Kirk's post above mine...
All Ben from what Im gathering from this wanted was to have Kirk's parents contact him... Correct?
And that Kirk himself wanted to retract his bid from Bens Facebook page becuase Kirk's phone was blowing up... Hmmm easy fix Change your settings.. Kirk got upset as he clearly states above... Once you've placed a Bid on an Item at a auction your Bid is there END OF STORY you cant retract your bid If Kirk would of had the winning bid he would of been liable to PAY UP!!! when he didn't pay up Ben would be posting the Bad Guy thread (not saying he would becuase it would more than likely be a waste of his time) on Kirk.
Then he get's upset becuase Ben wants to speak to his parents ( who Im sure didn't know he placing bids maybe the reason he wanted them deleted his parents have Facebook as well??)
In my Honest Opinion this thread is a waste of Rich's server space and at the actions of a Mad Child who should of been playing games on Facebook instead of placing bids in an auction he had no intentions of buying something or thats what Im getting from this line of what he wrote in the 1st post in this thread

He had no intentions of following through if his 10 dollar bid would have one
Simply a Child playing Child Games

Take this as a Life Lesson if nothing else is taken in by this Somethings are just better to let go than carry on with as for every action there's a possitive or negitave reaction

But you seem like an entire different issue. I apologized to you for not emailing you back to buy your cornsnakes and kingsnakes after corresponding. Now you are writing stuff up here and making jabs. Trying to make up rules because I dont want a kid in the business area? I honestly dont even know what you are talking about. It is my fb auction--I guess I get to make up the rules on my sales, but anyone who is willing to sell to underage kids without parental permission will learn quickly to make rules like that. But what in the world would I know......

The only part of the site that is 18 and older is the LH's forum. That's it.

Ben... I play devils advocate on pretty much all threads. This is nothing against you per se. I dont have an ax to grind against you.... Since your name was brought up here.. I put in my experience. I would have never of started a thread on my experience's alone. Like I said... I have no ax to grind. I looked at it as you didn't want my animals and I moved on. I do apprecaite the apology, but it wasn't necessary.

Now back to the point at hand. You're supposed to be the professional but on several occasions you resorted to name calling. (brat.. .bratty.. ect). How is that making stuff up and taking jabs. That looks like the truth to me. You even admited to calling him a bratty kid. (which may also be true... I dont know him and we dont have any of the exchange to read).

I do agree that you can do whatever you want with your FB auction. You could set it up so only hot females could bid. Quite frankly I could care less... it's your business and your right. My main thing is think about the larger picture. I have had difficult potential customers in the past, and some that just wanted to waste my time (just like every other breeder out there). The key is to try and always remain professional. If you need to blow off steam do it to friends and do it verbally... no paper trail Not to potential customers.

Actually, the OP is pointing fingers, yet showing no proof whatsoever so it actually is not Ben's responsibility to defend himself...unless we're going to take the word of a 16 year-old as gospel. Not saying anything negative at all of the minor; however, burden of proof is the accuser's obligation.

I agree that the OP is pointing fingers and I wasnt gonna say anything until Ben admitted to calling him a brat. So since Ben admitted it, the OP wouldnt really need to post proof. But the OP didnt mention anything of himself being rude or anything. Now of course we cant expect the OP to post bad things about himself, and since Ben was accusing him of being rude, Ben would need to back that up and lets us know if the OP was a bad buyer. Thats what I was looking for. Now I am responding without reading the other three pages yet so I havent seen the rest of the thread yet.

Registrations for anyone ADMITTING that they are under 13 years old here are simply denied.

Personally, I believe members under 18 years old SHOULD be restricted from posting on the BOI, but since members will buy from and sell to people under that age, and there is no realistic way to enforce such an age limit anyway, then it just is not an issue that will be addressed here any time soon, if at all.

If this needs to evolve into a discussion about age limits for posting, please take the discussion to a more relevant section of this site, please.

Ben I stopped reading after you called him a lil boy. Like some1 posted earlier it's up to the seller to remain professional or not. If you continue to belittle him and prove to us how he was wrong or BRATTY you will make yourself look bad. Be Jerry Brown and sit back and let the media thrash Meg Whitman, no need to keeping going with it. But that is just IMO so let's see how many people get on my case for leaving this comment.?

See there you go bringing up age. How does my input/advice have anything to do with my age? I am what some would call wise past my years. What is the legal age of becoming an adult? 18. So you already look dumb by saying I'm barley 18 when first off I'm 17 and age is just a number. I wasn't saying kids rule and making childish remarks. I was giving serious input which a few people happen to agree with me on. I did not once take a side in this situation. It's ignorant people that like to belittle people and cause problems. Every1 who reads this ask yourself this "Am I successful?" Yes or no you were once a kid. Age is not an issue for this conflict in some aspect. So don't make it one.
