In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Best Fish for Small Children....

dragonflyreptiles said:
I got a new 10 gallon bow front tank from Paul Sage that I planned on putting pygmy chameleons in but before it got here I showed a picture to the kids and Cody screamed "I want fish for my room",tThen Emily joined in with the fish screaming. So they get fish!

I was thinking a cory cat and a couple of swordtails maybe...

Ive never done small fish, manily oscars so I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on something that has color that would be good for a childs fish tank before I go shopping tomorrow.

Thanks!

Your first instinct there would make a great set up. You could get you a male sword, two females, a couple guppies, and a cory cat. They would all get along. Cory's are great there little butter balls and diligent cleaners. I have two in every tank. You take a good chance of having babies since all but the cory's are livebeares and, guppy's and sword's would reproduce in a mud puddle.

Not much luck....

Well, they had no swordtails, no cory cats, no cherry barbs and only the pleco that gets huge so he is goingto order me some fish so I have to decide by Wed to get them next Friday.

We did pick up 2 mollies (I think thats what they are) just to have something in there til we decide.

I could have gone to pet smart but I just refuse to buy from them.

This is so bland right now, Im trying to decide on the back, if I want to just do it black so the fish show up better or get one of the funky picture things.

I also want some plants but they had all ugly one so Im going to look online and I want to cover up the heater so I may add more gravel or some ornament that will hide it some.

The filter I have is too wide so Im going to go get a new one that will fit tomorrow and add my bubble makers too.

That's a tough decision! Just remember if you get livebearers, you will get babies. A few guppies can fill up a 10 gallon in a couple of months.

I've heard a lot of dwarf puffers, lately. And my local PetsMart even has them..go figure. Anyway, they are tiny, tiny little puffers with big personalities from what I've been told. They aren't terribly colorful though. I've been wanting some ,so I thought I would mention it! Dwarf Puffers
