    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

It would be in a room that is a constant 70 degrees.
Standard 20 gal rubbermaid plastic container.
This would be for a breeding colony, I just can't find out which exact UTH or if should go with, and if I should get a rheostat or not.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
 
I'll check it out, I'm not getting that large of a colony. Max probable 100 adults. Starting out small than possibly going larger.
I'll check out the website for the caresheets, looks like a great source.
Do you use a commercial heat pad or heat tap...?
 
we used 11in flex watt but only needed it for the winter months (only on one side)
they are in our reptile room and it stays hot in the room
 
Hello there! I know it's already been said, but flexwatt is the way to go.

Here's the most straightforward, easiest tutorial on installing the flexwatt:

It is IMPORTANT that you use a dimmer, to reduce the risk of fire and to have temperature control! I have had mine on 24/7 with a dimmer and have had no problems.

I just got a cheap thermometer and set it on the flexwatt, when I got it to the temp I wanted it, I 'dotted' a black sharpie dot on the dimmer so I know where to put it if it gets bumped or moved.

You can get all of these supplies from beanfarm, and I recommend them. Here are links to the exact things that I've purchased and currently use with no problem:

You will need an extension chord to give the flexwatt a 'plug'. The above tutorial will be able to shed more light. Also, electrical tape is important too! These are just the supplies that I have used. Feel free to search around online to find things more cheaply or even all through the same seller to save on shipping. Like I said I got my flexwatt a year ago and it's working just as well now as it did the day I got it.

If you're not looking for such a project, just get a plain ol' zoomed mini. Roaches aren't picky, and the hotter the better. My roaches have done well with 85-90F.

I started in a small container and just recently upgraded to a large tote. If you plan on going bigger, I recommend starting with the bigger setup. Not only will you not have to upgrade and have that extra expense, but when your dubia reach their limit in the smaller container, your mature males will have territory disputes and munch on eachothers' wings.

Oh, and don't forget your egg flats!
