Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them.     Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware adds from the One stop Pet shop!

My final word on this fiasco.
As of now I have not heard a word back from Jonathan since Nov. 26th. And I have not seen one add at all in any of the different classifieds from "One stop pet shop" or anyone by the name of Jonathan. SO as of now I am not going to even worry about trying to buy anything from this man. I know there are people who have said that they bought snakes from him and had no problems, but he seems to have folded over the simple request for an actual picture of the snake that was for sale. Oh well.
And as for the Fire Bellies, I have had a lot of help from members of this and a couple other forums in locating actual Roatan Fire Belly boas and I wish to extend my sincere thanks to those people who have helped me in this. THANK YOU!

How do you have a business dealing in animals that all look different and not have a camera? I wouldn't buy from anyone that didn't send me multiple pics. BTW...who is breeding the true fire-bellies? Anything similar to the pic you(David) posted. And Thanks for posting.

You are sure right about the camera part. I can't imagine buying anything, let alone an animal, that I had never even seen a picture of. Dennis Sargent is the one who is breeding the true Fire Bellies again now. There are a couple of other people who have them, but I don't know that any of them have breeding programs going at this time. ANd I have been informed that they do not always look like the one in the picture. They change colors alot and they only look like that during the day or when they are stressed. Their background color lightens to a pale green at night and the red is not quite as intense, but it is still there.

Firebellies

I have had several firebellies from Dennis Sargent and some unknown lines. $99 for a firebelly is a sure sign of a scam as Roatan/la Bahia has been closed since 93 and then only 25 animals were taken. I paid 2k for my original firebelly adults, and babies are still 300 for quality ones. Anyone still interested in them please seek out Chad Duggin in tennessee I believe or maybe it is virginia, or Dennis Sargent in Leesburg Florida, both are breeding pure lines of Firebellies.

I thought that i had established that they werent firebellies in the first post? What johnathan was selling were mainland hondurans. i opted not to wait for a picture and i am glad that i made that choice because the femle mainland that i got from him and the female central are 2 great , healthy boas. i can see why most people wouldnt buy anything with out a picture im ussually like that myself but as i stated earlier i spoke with johnathan on the phone and decided to take a chance i could see if it were for thousands of dollars but for $200 i thought it was worth the chance of getting 2 outragouse females and im glad i did because they were exactly how he described them to be ie health, length, and weight and do to my experience with johnathan i have no problems dealing with him again or recomending him to others. on thing i did gather from talking to him on the phone was that his pet shop seemed really busy and i do know that i had to call several times to get ahold of him because he was busy with customers so maybe he didnt blow you off on purpose maybe he just simply was busy and forgot. also has anyone even thought about contacting johnnathan and getting his side of the story?

I don't think this post was about you. I believe David got his point across that someone wasn't being upfront and honest and sending pics of animals that weren't his. He also couldn't get a pic out of the animals he was advertising. Congrats on your purchase but I think there probably isn't much more to say. All David was doing was using the BOI to warn folks of possible shady business practices. Thats awesome you got a great deal from One Stop, your animals are beautiful. All of that will be reflected by your posting in here. I personally think this thread is dead, unless One Stop has something to add. If you have a great rapport with Jonathan then notify him of this thread and let him tell his side. It seems like David was trying to contact him but having difficulties getting him to respond back. :smokin:

There are three things you absolutly MUST have if you are going to do business on the internet:

1. A computer with internet access
2. A digital camera
3. Sufficient time to manage your online business

NOTHING less is acceptable. It is ludicrous to think otherwise.

If I have read and understand this thread, then this is an excellent example of a seller either not knowing what he/she is doing, or all out misrepensatation. At best, the snakes David would have recieved would have not been what he thought he was buying, and worst secnerio would be he would get nothing at all.

Now, if you are a hobbiest, like myself, and are purchasing a low end corn or king snake, then you just end up with another snake you will end up loving anyway, but for a breeder or someone who wishes to breed a "specific" type, the it is imperitive that he/she gets what they pay for.

And lastly, Johnathon is welcome to come here anytime he wishes and defend himself. Again, not having access to a computer to accomplish this is not acceptable, and if someone was posting information, good or bad, about me or my business I would certianly fine the time to respond.

It's a beautiful day here in Georgia and I thank you all for the opportunity to add my "two cents worth".

You hit the nail on the head!!! All three of those items I would say are equal. Having all three of those will help with number 4. Customer Service/Integrity.
