    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

She has a personal check for wages which is more than enough for the DOL to investigate. Trust me. I deal with them at least once a month. Seeing as she was laid off on Saturday and not paid until Monday the DOL can also fine them and grant her an additional $128.00.

The burden of proof will lie with the employer. They will need to prove she was not an employee and that she didn't work the hours she claimed. If they underpaid her $50.00 and they don't fork it up now by the time the DOL gets to the claim they will fine the company $1920.00 and give it to her.

A client of mine just lost $3700.00 in fines for $125.00 in wages.

I have no tolerance for employers who screw employees and don't pay their taxes.

By LAW in CA you have to pay an employee FULL wages the day they are discharged. She absolutely has a case against them. Some may not agree with it but the law is there for a reason. Way too many employers play games with their employees hard earned money.

As for the rest of the story I don't buy it. If the animals were in that bad of condition you should have alerted the authorities. I'm sorry but a minimum wage paycheck is not worth the well being of any living creature.

someone in my math class has that happen at staples one time. he worked 24 hours only but found a better job. he got a check in the mail for $2000 because staples was stealing their employee work hours and paying them less than they should have gotten and they had gotten sued

my time clock hours prove othwise. 26 hours of work with $8 hour wages should be recorded on a time clock (total before taxes would be $208). and i think there are ways to prove that the if the hours were messed with say they took off two hours. im sure that would be recorded somehow
 
Wow long read, well everything else aside you still have not produced any pictures of the facilities. You have no proof to back your claims, which is what this thread is about. Dont buy at animal specialties because they have sick animals, isn't that the point of your thread? Can i see some pictures please?

Your telling me your a 19 year old who cant find a way to get in and take a picture (either with a phone or digital camera)... just say you left your purse, unless you made a scene there and they wont let you back.

You have no pictures, so you have no ground to stand on. Provide pictures and i'm sure people will ease up.

Everyone makes mistakes, in regards to Elizabeth's past, but the matter at hand is her accusations of the company's reptiles and the way they do business. People should not be taking jabs on either side. This thread should have been closed 2 days after it was made because of lack of proof! Personally I feel that some admins let this kind of crap happen because they are friends with the bullies!

Everyone here needs to grow up, including you Elizabeth, stop posting and get your proof to show to everyone, if not just let it go, ok?

:rolleyes: Yeah...telling the admins how to do their job without first being aware of how things actually work around here....and then accusing "them" (there's really only one, and a few moderators) of playing favorites or whatever when you don't have a clue what you're talking about. That's really grown up.

BOI threads aren't ever locked for any reason unless specific rules were broken when they were created. And anyone who thinks the mods play favorites needs to either spend more time watching how things work here, or just be quiet because that is the very last thing that goes on here.

I WILL agree with your point that if Elizabeth would just be quiet and let things go, this thread would cease being such a hot-point of activity and everyone could go their separate ways. But so long as she continues to argue every little point, there is bound to be someone else who will continue arguing back. Only SHE can put an end to it, really. And she doesn't seem inclined to do that anytime soon. :rolleyes:

it is actually not. this is about the companies lack of care of their animals i.e breeding deformed animals etc, legal issues about the company themselves, your missing the big picture. this is not about me its about the business
