I'd like to warn all those interested in purchasing a reptile/selling a reptile to/getting information, etc from a man named Jeremy Walsh of Odessa, Texas. Jeremy Walsh is your typical fraud. Here's my personal story...
This month past, I purchased and did a trade for 5 different live snakes, all venomous snakes, from a man named Jeremy Walsh. Now, I found him through a group of Facebook in the Texas area that pertains to reptile classified. The people in this group are for the most part very well known and trusted. Point to take here is that not all people in this group are well known or good people/breeders/sellers at all, and I'm here to warn others away from those people so they don't suffer as I have. So, back to my experience... Many a conversation was exchanged between Jeremy Walsh and myself, all pertaining to the animals that were in purchased. I was told that one animal was of Texas locality, however I was NOT told the animal was wild caught, as a venomous snake with a particular locality can mean it was captive bred from wild caught parents or others further pack in lineage, with that said, none of the animals were stated as wild caught. Since multiple other animals on his availability list were marked as wild caught and the 5 I purchased were not, I was under the impression they were captive bred or at least captive hatched. From our conversations, the animals were believed to be captive bred snakes all having been a part of his collection for quite some time as he knew quite a bit about the behaviors and pairings of males and females and whatnot. Satisfied that I was making a wise purchase as a handful of other animals on his availability list that I had been interested were going quickly, I was under the impression i was making the right decision. So, we agreed on a price and trade for the animals and met up. Upon meeting, I assessed the animals which all seemed to look in very good condition, no outward signs of illness other than the odd difficult shed of a certain rattlesnake (now this is quite odd as rattlesnakes do not need higo let alone even low humidity to shed, they are native desert animals, so bad sheds on rattlesnakes are almost unheard of). However he said the bad shed had only happened this one time and it was not something that usually happened so I wrote it off as just a particularly odd but possible situation. I traded one of my own personal animals which was 100% healthy, and captive bred and raised by me from birth so I knew every detail about her including her eating habits, how many times she had shed since birth, etc, I knew this snake like the back of my hand, she had been a slow to start eater and she took some time to eat her first meal after her birth but she was eating well and twice weekly at the time I traded her to Jeremy Walsh. He looked at her and agreed she was indeed in perfect condition and we went about our transaction. My 1 snake plus $250 for 5 snakes from him, (1 supposed breeding pair, and 3 other individuals). Everything seemed in order as side from the odd shed on the 1 snake of his but I mentioned it to him upon the transaction and we agreed to keep in contact over it. Over the next week to two weeks we kept in regular contact about the current health of his animals (now mine) and how I was not able to get them to take any offered food, even though I offered multiple different types of rodents both live and frozen/thawed. He had said they had JUST come out of cooling the day he brought them to me (which is very, very odd now that I look back on it) but at the time it didn't seem out of the ordinary. Well at around that two week mark the one snake that had had the shedding issue suddenly died without any signs of illness at all. I immediately contacted Jeremy about the situation and told him what had happened and he agreed to replace the animal as soon as one became available. I was satisfied with this as when all snakes/reptiles are sold they are sold with a health guarantee. So, moving along to a couple weeks later, I'm still in contact this entire time with Jeremy Walsh as I could not for anything get the breeding pair I got from him eating even though they had been separated now. I offered multiple different types of rodents both live and frozen/thawed of various sizes, but neither animal would take anything. I first wrote it off to breeding but as the days went by, things were not changing and the animals showed no outward signs of illness at all but we're beginning to lose a little weight. I attempted assist feeding but did not want to push them too hard and have them regurgitate as that would have made them much, much worse. During this whole ordeal Jeremy Walsh was kept abreast of the situation and I asked him for any suggestions as well as their previous eating habits which he just said they had eaten for him so he did not know. Needless to say, first the male died, and two days later the female followed. They were not starved to death so something was definitely wrong here. I informed Jeremy Walsh of both deaths on the day they happened and he all of a sudden jumped into defensive say thing that I was the only person who had ever had any problems with his animals in all his years of selling. So apparently he assumed I was doing something wrong and refused to do anything about it. After much arguing on his side he finally said he would replace them within 60 days, however he would not send me a written or typed, signed agreement on it, I was just supposed to take his word. Well after 3 dead animals, all from him, I was not going on just his word. So, abut a week goes by and here we go again, snake number four is dead. Except this time, something was very, very wrong, and this time the truth behind everything that was happening came to light. When the fourth snake passed, she expelled from both her front and back end, countless numbers of internal parasites. It was a horrifying sight and one I was NOT happy with as I knew something had been horribly wrong but this, this was the last straw for me. I immediately contacted Jeremy Walsh and told him what happened, now mind you I supplied him with pictures of every single one of the animals that had passed including the current 4th one. He immediately jumped on the defensive and began accusing me of killing them and that in my care they were getting sick when we both know that's a load of bull, considering internal parasites do not come from a captive born, captive bred collection. Not to mention every single one of his animals had been in quarantine on plain substrate with ideal conditions for their species. So absolutely was it impossible for these animals to get sick let alone internal parasites from me. I have hundreds of snakes and not a single one was sick, ill, acting strange, etc, except for the animals I had received from him. Now mind you. I have 1 snake of his remaining, she is the only surviving snake and has thankfully been cleared after fecal and swab exams to be 100% healthy and parasite free. Needless to say, Jeremy Walsh had knowingly sold me sick animals and now was refusing to refund my money for the animals now dead or replace them (however at this point I just wanted my money back as I knew any animal that came from him would be ill). Longer story short, I have not received my money back and he is lying his way to the moon and back to get out of this disastrous business deal (disastrous for me) without doing a single thing about it, and keeping my money and MY 100% healthy captive bred/captive born and raised animal that was part of my payment to him for his sick and dying, now dead animals. So here I sit, to warn every single person ever considering getting or giving a snake to this fraud. DO NOT DO IT, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SAVE YOUR ANIMALS!!!!! IF YOU SEE HIS NAME STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!!! I learned the hard and painful way, I urge you all to stay as far as you can away from Jeremy Walsh of Odessa, Texas. He not only takes horrendous care of his animals to let them live full of parasites but he will sell them that way and lie his way to the bank with your money and your animals. He is a fraud, a liar, and a thief, and I wish I had never done business with him....NEVER!!!!
TLDR: Jeremy Walsh sold me parasite filled snakes, stole my money and animal and is a liar and a fraud! Stay as far away from Jeremy Walsh as you humanly can!!!
