All I said to him in a private email was it wouldnt be funny if it spit in his face!! I get a email back from that sounded like it was from a high school kid... not very professional.... So it makes me wonder how he treats his customers that purchase from him and have a problem especially from an internet purchase where the can not go to his store to work it out face to face..... I for one would not buy even a frozen rodent from him and I would hope others would feel the same...

I don't care if he has been bit, and Keith obviously doesn't as he still keeps hots which is fine. I know many many people who have been bit also. Some were great keepers, some were wahoo's, some were people trying to kill the darned thing.

My concern is that I have lived in two states that did not allow venomous for any reason what so ever no matter who or what your were and what you were doing with them. I now live in florida which has a lot better/open laws. But this year large constrictors and several monitors and tegus will be made a permit only option becuase of the public perception of a problem. Which will have a huge impact on retailers, us suppliers will just ship them elsewhere.

So becuase of other people I now have to have a permit, inspected caging, and all sorts of other hoops to jump through. The average american soccar mom thinks its ludacris that someone can keep a king cobra in the house next door. And accidents/incidences only inflame that becuase the general public doesn't see other accidents like car accidents, dog bites, drinking/driving in the same light as an axotic animal bite-even though the other accidents are about 10,000 more common.

Bottom line is I don't want any one else taking my civil liberties away becuase the didn't give a damn. I don't care if it was due to eccentricity, rudeness, stupidity, or being nieve.

Keith drew some googles on the guy in the pic, thats cool, that fixes the issue, thats all I ever wanted. Thank you Keith.

I live in Killeen, about 9 miles away from Keith's shop in Copperas Cove. I haven't bought any reptiles from him (yet), but I have gone in to get feeders, appetite stimulant, and have animals probed (before he offered me a great deal on my own set). He has always been very kind, up front, honest, and willing to have a good chat about herps. He knows his animals and I've seen first hand how well he cares for them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him...and hell, I honestly have wanted to work there since I first moved down here. His hots are kept at his home and in the very back of the building behind a staffed, locking door...far away from the non-venomous snakes, spiders, and lizards he sells to the general public.

Yes, Keith has quite the colorful choice of words on his site and in how he communicates...but he's a very political guy and his views/exuberance spill over into just about everything he does. Even his sign above his store spouts random sayings and bashes local political personnel. There have been stories about his sign and views on the nightly news as well as the local newspaper. Just 2 days ago his sign said, "Keith farts hemotoxin - rent him for $20 a day"...he's just a funny guy, and for those that haven't met him in person it may be hard to read/understand his personality via e-mail.

Jen I most certainly agree, I met Keith when I was down Killeen a few years back.In my opinion people have 2 choices either take Keith the way he is or pass him on by.

One thing is to be jovial and enjoy life to its fullest extent; I’m in all for that. But to paraphrase the words of JFK in your ad and at the same time make a mockery of the people that are dieing to protect your freedom seems way out of line. Yes, there are people right now which are giving their lives and sacrificing their families so you can play with your cobras. There are innocent civilians and children dieing by the hundreds because of the actions of extremist groups. Their only mistake was to be born in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe you don’t give a damn about what’s going on with the rest of the world. But it would certainly be appreciated if you kept it to yourself.
