    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I think you need to go back and read the entire thread.
Mr Northrop has attempted to alienate and insult just about every group of people on the planet.

This thread has never been about his animals. It has been about the way he chooses to treat people. I'm all for freedom of speech, and I will support anyone's choice to exercise it, but in my opinion, he crossed the line of good taste and common decency many pages ago.

I'm sure that he will continue to do business regardless of this thread.
Afterall, it would be pretty short-sighted of us to assume that everyone that deals with every reptile vendor checks them out on the BOI beforehand.

However, I also think that it is a fair conclusion to draw that anyone who does read this thread would have reservations about conducting business with him.

No Shrap no one is commenting on Keiths animals or his actual place of business.

I originally started this thread becuase I saw an ad for a spitting cobra, and though that the pictured showed unsafe handling practices. I emailed Keith, and he sent me an email back with lanuguage and behavior I didn't care for. And I assumed that an unsafe situation in the photo and the first reply I got from equalled a wahoo that was either a scammer or someone who is actually hurting the industry not helping it. Since the reptile industry as a whole is under fire, and since accidents/incidents with large and venomous snakes(which are very uncommon) take front page precedence I decided to argue with Keith.

Over the first handful of pages I got out what I needed to say, and Keith got out some stuff he needed to say and the thread was done. And the original arguement was done! I believe (i am guestimating here) that Keith realized where I was comming from, and I found out from many people that Keith has an alright operation-since we stopped zinging emails back and forth.

He is very outspoken, and unconventional per say, but that was not the original point. That is what the BOI has morphed it into.

Shrap, I agree that this thread has very little meat to it, but it would have been over long ago if Kieth would have thought about the way he responded to EVERYONE !

And it seems like Kieth has been enjoying himself ruffleing some feathers. :sneaky:

Agreed as to the huge waste of time most of this thread is/was, and am also aware of another adage that may apply: "mess with the bull and you get the horn". That said, it is highly likely that publishing some of the "personal information" that was revealed violated criminal statutes, and also made for a good civil case. I believe that Rich deleted the relevent parts, as he faced liability were he to allow it to stand. I would say that Keith's actions now stand as being "100 times wrong", and it was all senseless to begin with.

I understood that aspect of it and agree. As a hobby/industry we dont need any more negative press and we all need to do our part. It is all of this other nonsense I did not get. But as you said, that is what the BOI has morphed into.

Sammy your correct Keith can say and be what he wants just as anyone can comment on the persona he shows the world. He acts like an Arse and gets treated like one or in his case shows it and acts like one. I don't know that he has gotten anyone riled up though Keith seems to get that way himself.

As we often do here give em some rope and let em hang looks like ol Keith stepped over the line...Randy

Local business owner's sign prompts complaints

A Central Texas store owner is using his outside business sign as a way to fight a community activist.

However, the Copperas Cove woman now says she’s had enough.


“Diane is drunk as a skunk, Diane suck dirty butts, Diane sucks people’s dirty butts”


Diane Steele is recalling a few of the things that this man, Keith Northrop has said about her.


“She’s a little devious person that needed to be exposed,” said Northrop.


“You know, it’s just ridiculous,” said Diane.


Northrop owns Chameleon Counters Exotic Reptiles on Highway 190 in Copperas Cove.


He’s put Steele’s name on his outside sign more than 10 times in the last year and a half.


“He says he enjoys humiliating people in public,” said Diane.


And Steele has got it all documented, more than 20 pages.


The first message went up when Steele helped ban smoking in certain public spaces.


She says she called Northrop and complained, and he just says he has freedom of speech.


The messages continued when Steele helped bring alcohol sales to Cove.


But Northrop says Steele has been going after him.


“She calls up my parole officer and harasses her,” said Northrop.


“It has nothing to do with him being an ex-convict, it’s his behavior now, he’s 43 years old and evidently never grown up,” said Steele.


Northrop has expressed himself on his sign for several years, something Copperas Cove leaders aren’t too happy about. According to the mayor, the entire city council dislikes it, but legally they can’t do anything about it.


However, Steele says she’s going to do something about it.


“We will be meeting in a court room face to face, it is libel, the written word is libel,” said Diane.


“But the challenge to sue, bring it on, my dad says that I got 10miles of suit against her,” said Northrop.


Northrop has also used his sign against a few other Copperas Cove residents.
