I don't know if you served or not, but I served with great "honor", SIR! You can't take that away from me!
I reported a guy that lied 3 times on a transaction. In the course of that, I lied about a picture (bad me). Way before the picture....from the time I posted, everyone was beating on the poster, instead of the real liar here. If I get a bad deal again, I won't bother to warn others on Fauna. Let the buyer beware.
You that want to....go ahead and buy from ken....have at the mites ;-)
...that has to be the most appropriate usage of scare quotes I've ever seen.
[definition of "scare quotes" to those of you who aren't losers like me and study linguistics for funsies: material in scare quotes may represent the writer's concise (but possibly misleading) paraphrasing, characterization, or intentional
misrepresentation(sic) of statements, concepts, or terms used by a third party. This may be an expression of sarcasm or incredulity, or it may also represent a rhetorical attempt to frame a discussion in the writer's desired (non-standard) terms (e.g. a circumlocution, an apophasis, or an innuendo)...]
Give credit where credit is due, at least our friend Denny, clearly not yet arisen from his "Napster" (scare quotes FTW!), while disregarding his credulity, ethics, and general character, and boasting his moral turpitude, has not completely given up on the notion of grammatical nuances.
Three cheers for sarcasm!
...I read this entire thread, beginning to end, and I have got to say, I'm so frustrated, I could break something. Amazing detective work, Fauna-ers. I knew I liked y'all.
And sir, as for warning others of said "bad deals" (again! I slay myself...), I think at this point, we're all OK with taking our chances. Be careful before posting to the BOI, they'll figure you out before you have a chance to figure yourself out!
