He doesn't. He can stop posting on this thread and let it stand as it is. I don't think that would be a good move on his part but no one can force him to do anything. If he wants to clear his name of these accusations he can choose to do that also. If it were me I would pick that option.

I actually think those that are saying Dan doesn't need to provide proof, which he brought up in the first place, are actually doing him a disservice. If he doesn't provide proof then some will be left with doubt, as to who is correct here. Even if that's not fair it is a fact of life. He can easily turn things in his favor by providing the proof he's mentioned several times already.
 
Dan, if you would like, I would be glad to post some pics for you. PM me, and will give you my email, and I can get them posted....that will put an end to the "he might not even have the snakes".

I would advise you to post whatever emails and such you do have....that will just put a quick end to it all. Perhaps it's not your "responsibility" to post the proof..but it will help alleviate any doubts.
 
What is with the garbage claims lately

At the start of this thread Christina Horn made the unsupported allegation: “BEWARE LIZARDMEN3477 dan duckworth and any other names or ids he has

this guy is trying to pawn off several fake snakes... an albino female burm and male burms and also some boas... dont know if his pics are real. an sendif you would like but he changes prices and is run fake bussiness.. dont deal with him he is shady...."

That was it, nothing more. She accuses Mr. Duckworth of trying to sell “fake snakes” (What does that mean the snakes are rubber??),
“he changes prices” (When? Was a deal struck then he upped the price, what is she talking about?),
then I think she makes the claim he has a “fake business” (Again what is that supposed to mean?)

NO emails posted to support her claims, other proof or explanations were offered then POOF she is gone.

Then we have Mr. Dan Duckworth: “that is some bull just cause u back out of a deal im a bad guy you can shove it. first she was going to buy my 2 burms and 2 boas. and we worked everything out. then few days later she is like well burms may be to big can i just get boas so im like ok lets readjust everything and work something else out . than later on she is like well nevermind i think i have to many boas. i have emails and pms to prove everything and i no a lot of people who will vouge for me as being a good guy and a lot of satisfied customers.

She is so full of it i can prove i have every snakes i have pics of and i would be more than willing to talk to anyone on the phone who doubts me i will prove everything selling fake snakes how stupid. just joined and trying to start trouble.

I can prove i have snakes easily i could take pic of them right now with todays date in front of them there could be no way to fake that. Plus why would i take someones money and say i have the snake then tell them to come to my house to pick up?? they would get here and no snakes would be here wouldnt that be dumb thats why i tell everyone to pay upon pick up i never ask for prepayment to ensure there is no doubt that they can get ripped off. only way for me to get there money is if they get my snake plain and simple.

im just sayin i can prove i have the animals and that is basically her whole story "how i sell fake animals" so if i prove that it crushes her whole story. Which i can do.

we mostly talked with yahoo messenger so all chat went there ims not emails so cant prove chat but for all who think i sell fake animals tough cause i dont email me and iwll send pics of my animals.

i can prove i have snakes. i said we talked little in emails but nothing serious it was easier to im each other. bottom line is i can prove i have snakes and thats all that matters.

Not to be rude or anything and i dont want to come across wrong way but i dont have to prove nothing to no one except the buyer of my snakes which i will gladly do.

I have nothin left to prove and its like i said i have proof i own animals thats all that matters and there are plenty other ways to sell other than fauna thank you all and good nite.

Then out of the blue starts defending the fact he has the snakes though no one claimed he did not unless that is what Ms. Horn’s gobbledy gook, “dont know if his pics are real”, was supposed to indicate.

On and on we go with Mr. Duckworth’s claims “i have pics of”, “i could take pic of them right now with todays date”, “bottom line is i can prove i have snakes”

STILL no proof of anything is posted by either side. No pictures, No emails, No PMs from the messenger archiving, Nothing.

Then comes our classic “i dont have to prove nothing to no one except the buyer of my snakes” & “I have nothin left to prove….. and there are plenty other ways to sell other than fauna thank you all and good nite.”

Next excuse we get from Mr. Duckworth, “it wont let me post pics on here for some reason plz tell me how and ill prove case and save my rep.”, “i can prove i have snakes though i just need to no how to post pics?”

Well Mr. Duckworth I will try to give you that information in just a moment but first; would everyone please do the world a favor and learn to use your Word program or like program to assist you in using grown up English as well as proper spelling. :hot:

I swear reading some of this child gibber is worse than getting a tooth pulled and given that I have all of my teeth removed I know what that is like.

Now, Mr. Duckworth, to insert a picture you go to the blue button at the bottom left of these posts that says “Post Reply”, click on it and scroll down to where the bar is that says “Manage Attachments”. There should be 3 bars there labeled “Browse”, clicking on these allows you to locate the file on you computer to upload. After you have the address of the picture file you wish to upload in the field beside the “Browse” bar click the bar that is labeled “Upload”

Then post your message.

NOW WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE POST SOME PROOF OF ANYTHING!!!!

You keep slamming her for poor grammar and spelling, I guess you haven't paid much attention to how he butchers the English language in his posts? Not that has much to do about anything, other than casting a less than professional light on someone who can't or wont take the time to proofread his posts.

As for him defending himself or posting his side of the story, you are correct he doesn't have to prove anything. However, he CHOSE to willingly reply to her post claiming to be able to provide proof of her being a liar and tossing around a few accusations of his own. When asked to show the proof that he claimed to have he instead changed his story and then stated he didn't have to prove anything. All in all he would have been better served to have just said nothing and let the thread die. Instead he chose to step into the ring and make a few claims of his own which he is unable to substantiate.

If the thought of doing what one says or backing up ones story on the BOI bothers you so much then perhaps the BOI isn't the place you want to contribute to or be a part of... I know of another forum that will coddle you and treat you with kids gloves if you are interested, based on the few posts I have seen from you here you would be a perfect fit in their "carebear" atmosphere.

Why in the world does he need to do anything? Granted, he should have made his initial post and then left this alone but my God, some of you need to get a life outside of the BOI. Some moron makes a baseless claim and now, all of a sudden, we are demanding proof from the one being accused to prove himself???

What in the heck is wrong with some of you? You should have asked the accuser for proof not the one being accused. Leave an innocent man alone until such time that him providing proof is warranted. Heck, you have even had another Fauna user tell you that he's seen the animals but that won't cut it for you? It's getting more ridiculous everyday here.

The second post on the thread asked the original poster for proof. That would be right before the accused started posting, making his own claims without anything to back them up. I don't see anyone here supporting the original poster. All anyone asked for was Dan to provide something to back up HIS STORY, the one he chose to post....

Seems you are in need of a vacation yourself Bob, every post from you in the last week has been an angry one it seems. If these threads bother you so much maybe you should consider your own advice and "get a life outside of the BOI". Or is it only those who don't see things the same way as you that needs to "get a life"?

Angry is right Sam. I am very dogmatic anymore and while my time spent here is probably spent in vain, I have decided to stop holding my tongue.

Sam, why in the Hell does he owe you or this board anything? Just because he stated he could prove the accusation to be false does not mean he needs to. One would like to believe that the readers would first be asking the accuser for proof or at least with the same vigor. Why don't you spend your time first trying to prove that the accusation has some merit before wasting the time of what would appear to be an innocent individual?

You have actual first hand testimony from someone who has seen his animals yet that's not good enough for you and some others. Why is that? How does that help the credibility of the BOI. You have heard from countless people, many of whom are some of the most respected people in this industry, that it's actions like yours (in this particular thread) that is the reason behind the BOI losing it's merit yet you won't change your behavior.

If you can give me one logical explanation why he owes you pictures vs why you are not requesting the same (with the same vigor) from the accuser then I will apologize.

Why am I getting angry here lately Sam? It's because I have seen one too many innocent people have their reputations harmed by over zealous people with good intentions but poor deduction abilities. It gets old Sam and maybe I can start being the voice of reason for some of those who don't have quite the capabilities that I have. We have to start holding ourselves to a higher standard and stop wasting our time harming the reputations of people that did not deserve it and start concentrating on helping those who need it.

I don't know anything about Dan at all, so in reading this post I'm going just by what the woman that started this thread has said, which btw I can't understand. If this was an attack to most of us, I'm sure we'd all be saying WTF, what is the claim here?

Dan, it would have been best not to have said anything until she posted something of a claim that we can understand. I would be frustrated too with such a post.

Did you even read my posts from the beginning? I clearly stated that both sides were wasting time. Dan responded, I explained to him that he was missing the point, he continued to reply and make claims so I asked him to either show what he has or stop talking about it, he then stated he didn't have to prove anything, which I agreed with, but that didn't stop old Dan.

I don't have a logical explanation to give you for him "owing" pictures as I NEVER asked to see pictures of his snakes. I asked him to post the e-mails and PM's that he kept saying he had, to show that she was "full of it", his claim not mine.

I was pretty clear in my posts about what I thought of the original poster as well. Should she ever choose to return to this thread I have plenty of questions for her as well. Her post was useless, as I stated, but it doesn't mean that all of the replies from Dan were any better, he made his own share of accusations and claims. Is he absolved of being responsible for backing those up since he didn't initiate the thread?

If you took a minute away from your crusade and stepped down off the high horse you rode into this thread on and read my posts perhaps you and I wouldn't be having this discussion at the moment?

The fact of the matter, and this is just myself personally, I don't feel that Dan owes anything to anyone as far as posting.. If he wanted to, he could have to satisfy the "BOI gods" that demanded it, but once the "sniper" that made the accusations didn't come back in, and face the heat that was most likely going to be going in her direction also, it just proves that she is immature, and was just here to get everyone on Dans back. That being said, I do feel that proof has to be laid out, but I only feel that proof needs to be laid out when you have a customer that is going to lay out a case that the seller has to defend himself/herself against. That is the purpose of the BOI... it is to settle disputes... not to lynch someone because a sniper has a grudge, comes in, slings a little poop around and jumps back out to watch the gods come down with their wrath.
 
First of all my archives where not enabled.. i wasnt expecting to get a bad person... I asked him about his snakes first he told me that the female python was 6 ft and a ball that was gravid... then i asked about boas i only wanted boas... he kept pushing me into not getting the boas unless i took the 2 "ball pythons" so we made a deal of 650 for them so then he told me his boas where gravid also... I said okay do yo have pics of them locked? he said no. also said then that the pythons where burms and the female was 11 ft... when i gave him prices he would argue them then say i said i would take it.. if i can recover the pms wthout my archives being on at time let me know how and i will show you them... and as for the not charging up front he wanted us to pay in full before we traveled there.. i said no he said okay half i told him no bc he has a warning of 2 on here... he then said fine i will ship but it costs 500 to ship per snake. i then told him to keep his snakes... the reason i said his snakes are fake i asked him to put todays newspaper inthe picture with visual date he would not.. said he didnt get the paper. as for my english my keyboard is wireless and the batteries are going out... sorry... ill post all the emails and such.. sorry didnt reply till now i check every morning not at night sorry
