Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

this guy had an advertisement for Namibian House snakes on kingsnake, so I email the guy and he said he had unrelated pairs, so I asked for two pairs and asked to have them shipped to me.

supposedly he checked out the shipping cost ect. and then sent me the total

first email I asked if he had any left

I have unrelated pairs,trios,both sexes,most have fed at least 3-6 x since birth on small pink mice,let me know what you'd like.cheers.Dave

2 pairs of namibian house snakes!
shipping is based on the size of the box, you can pack in a small box since its only babbies it shouldnt be no more then 80 bucks for shipping, vet will be like 40 bucks.

Dave, first try giving the air line a call to get the exact ammount, which airport are you closest to and does air canada fly out of there, perhaps check it out and then let me know, and I will send the money western union, it will cost me more but its ok at least you get the money right away, money grams are also quick and cost less to send then western union if you have a money gram place near by

So I ended up sending this man $600 via western union to cover cost of shipping vet and the cost of 2 pairs of Namibian House Snakes. (I can easily scan the western union reciept and place it on here as well)

this was last wednesday, 9 days ago, since then he has not returned any of my emails nor has he returned any of my phone calls.

I called western union and he recieved the money just after it was sent so he got the money.

I thought this guy was ok, his name is out there, but I guess he thinks because I am in another country it is ok to keep my money.
 
How long ago did all of this take place?
Just a tip, some real scammers ask for Western Union payments because it is soooo easy to rip people off that way.

its my fault I am the one who mentioned western union, thinking if he recieved the money quicker he would send quicker.

even if I sent the money like he wanted, a certified bank check he would still be able to rip me off. even a bank to bank wire transfer isnt going to guarentee the reciever will send shipment.
 
I took the liberty of sending him an email informing him of this thread. Hopefully he will come here and straighten this all out with you.

Have you had any word from him yet?
I understand your dilemma on payments but when I run into someone that does not allow for a traceable verifiable payment method I don't deal if I cannot find favorable information about them here or through other sources.
I would have to think that a bank to bank transfer would allow some saftey net but with Western Union you have nothing. The person receiving does not even have to be who they say they are.
 
he hasnt responded to me, he wont nor will he respond on here.

its ok I have family in florida, my older brother lives there, also my mothers sister has two sons who are florida state troopers. so I will get some kind of justice in the end, its just the whole point, buddy shouldnt be posting snakes for sale on kingsnake if he has no intentions of sending. I only posted here to warn others, I know this post isnt gonna change things and I may not even get my money back but at least he wont be able to do this again to someone else.

here in canada you need to produce ID to recieve money from western union.

My father in-law who is a snake breeder based in FL sold Dave Powell 4.5 adult Namibian House snakes and gave him 3 '07 babies that weren't eating on pink June 1, 2008. He took payment with a personal check from Dave Powell that bounced. Since then he hasn't had any response from Dave seeking payment and restitution for bank fees incurred. He is ignoring him also; even the certified letter he sent him. He is now awaiting a reply before he can go to the State Attorney's office to file a "bad check" claim against Dave.

Did you send a complaint about Dave Powell to the PetHobbyist.com abuse coordinator? They are the owner/operators of the kingsnake.com domain and have a page for reporting scammers using their site http://www.pethobbyist.com/support/complaint.html. I took the liberty of posting a complaint for my father in-law mentioned above and included this threads link.
I think it would be a good idea if you complain too, if you haven't already. At least we could get him suspended from using kingsnake.com and prevent him from ripping other unsuspecting people off.
 
i wish i had this info 2 weeks ago, i knew about the thread regarding the DOA but from what I also got from the thread he still did send to people, I didnt realize his recent dealings. He is obvious in a bad situation probally on drugs or something, so he his burning major bridges. No excuse for what he is doing and karma will prevail. I will go and post now on that other site.
 
well I recieved a phone call tonight from Dave's brother, apparently Dave got into a bad car accident hence why he never replied to my emails and wasnt around to answer my phone calls.

he said dave has been trying to get a hold of the other fella he owes money too, so hopefully everything works out with that situation.

well at least i recieved some type of contact and it kind of puts me at ease, daves brother said dave will try to get my snakes to me once he is out of the hospital.
 
Give him a number do days to get your money back or the snakes. A car accident is one of several BS stories scammers use. Could be true....but I would set a certain number of days for him to get his $h!t together, then file some fraud complaints. The, I am in the hospital, story could be to just delay you in filing papers.
