Jim, Matt has a TOS, you may think he was in the wrong for not refunding Wendy because she was not happy with the animal. Of course let's not forget she was not around to sign for the package when it first arrived. So, why should Matt refund Wendy if she broke the TOS before she could honestly decide if she was happy with the animal? Should Matt be drug through the ringer because Wendy decided to not be around when the UPS truck arrived?

Mike, I don't know if you wasted time keeping up with every post. No one new to this thread is going to go back and read it all. But you have incorrectly stated my position here. If you want to try to get it right, you will need to go back and read all my posts. All your questions are already answered there.

Some of you are thinking a bit small-minded. And some have clearly demonstrated that they are of small mind. Should any of you actually build a reptile business to any size, you will have TOS, and yes, complaints to settle. Dennis, pay attention. When faced with the initial complaint, will you:

1) Be defensive, and hope that you wrote your TOS well enough (or poorly enough) so as to find a disqualifying hook right away, and be able to tell the customer "tough luck"; or

2) Will you listen, as hard as it may be, and then say something more akin to "OK, there are a few problems here ..................... What do you think would be fair? Let me see what I can do". Or, if its a real struggle "I need one night to think on this one. Can I call you tomorrow" and set a time?

Of course, you can always pick #1, get all offended at the use of the "F" word, then make a BOI thread about your customer. I did not include the BOI as an option, as I only see it of such value if the customer threatened to come here first. We have seen that before.

A few of you always pick number two. It is not always an automatic refund. But it is also not slamming the door in an upset customer's face, eh Erik?

Two quick questions then off to clean cages

1.) Has anyone pointed out the possibility that the only reason Wendy was not happy with the animals was that a couple were dead through her negligence? That would be an excellent way to extort a refund and shift the blame.

2.) How much would the animals in question lose in water weight during shipping in hot weather when they had to spend the extra time in the back of a hot truck? I don't work with this species so I honestly would like to know.

It was less than 180 days ago that you Jim admonished JimO, DAND, and many others about the need to post on so many threads. Actually, you made quite a big deal about people who have more than three posts per day and they have nothing better to do with time. I was unaware until earlier today that there was even a shift in rules on Fauna (shows you how much I pay attention). While I am all for exposing the bad guys/girls and protecting the buyers (isn't that what the BOI is for anyway?) there should be some sort of restraint shown otherwise everyone gets covered in the filth.
