Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware of Jeane Best & Wendy Childs

I admit I don't know where the post in support of Crested Geckos was first written but I think it is raw deal to stick a good guy post at the end of a bad guy thread. I'm no fan of Jeane and Wendy's but this could happen to anyone. To me if uglydragonfrog had started a new thread then it should have been left there or put in a support thread, if there is one :rofl: .
If it was already here then disregard this post.
 
Kevin, the post was started with an incorrect title, the name of the person the deal was with was not included, as per the BOI rules.....the mods had the choice to delete it or move it.

Of course, if you set a piece of fruit atop a pile of dung, or set it next to a pile of dung, the flies will still find the fruit, and contaminate it in short order. Best to just keep the fruit elsewhere for a while !

As has already been stated, the original thread did not conform to the BOI rules. It was pointed out to the OP and ample time was given them to start a new thread in the correct format. In fact, I even checked to see if they had been back to Fauna since starting the thread and they had been. Obviously, it was not important enough to them to start a new thread. I had two choices, delete it or merge it into an existing thread. Imagine the flak I would have caught for deleting a good guy post. Kinda like the flak for merging it.

I was reading this post today and was wondering, why in the heck did you ship UPS? I thought they didn't allow live animals.Forgive me if someone already asked that question. I didn't read the whole post.
I once had a delivery of live snakes from UPS that supposedly got lost and then the driver walked up to my door a week later with the box in her hand. Needless to say she left them on my driveway under a 40 gallon robber tote in the middle of August. I live in Florida. Snake soup anyone? She didnt even leave a note and 5 years later I still can't get deliveries without sigining because I had to make a claim.
They suck.

You can't ship snakes UPS, they allow you to ship lizards. UPS is no worse than any of the other shipping companies; you will find a "horror story" about all of them if you ask enough people.

If so, UPS does accept LIVE, HARMLESS, Reptiles. A list of items that they accept can be seen here: http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/prepare/guidelines/animals.html?WT.svl=SubNav .

Here is what it says on UPS's website (that link).

Accepted Live Animals

This is a comprehensive list of live animals accepted for transportation. Shippers are prohibited from shipping any animal not listed here, and all other live animals will not be accepted for transportation. The following live animals are accepted for transportation unless poisonous, venomous, and/or a Threatened or Endangered Species.

Amphibians (All): Examples: frogs, salamanders, toads
Crustaceans (All): Examples: crabs, crawfish, lobsters, shrimp
Fish (All)
Insects (Limited to beneficial insects only): Examples: bees, butterflies, crickets, lady bugs
Mollusks (All): Examples: clams, mussels, snails
Reptiles (Limited to the following):
- Lizards: Examples: chameleons, geckos, iguanas, monitors, flying dragons
- Turtles: freshwater turtles (except: snapping turtles), land tortoises, sea turtles

I personally feel you are 100% correct in your decision to stand your ground and not offer any kind of refund or replacement under the extenuating circumstances. I also feel that you did the right thing bringing this here. Wendy is the customer NO ONE wants (except Jim) and it needs to be brought to the publics attention

If the buyers did not like the company the buyer uses, they could have asked him to send via fedex, or asked to cancel their purchase if they beleived it would be an issue. Wendy also had no right to be rude when their negligence "watching the delivery guy leave..." was what probably caused a DOA. Also, if she had provided pictures, she could have gotten some kind of refund.

Reasonable behavior would have recieved a reasonable response. Wendy is not someone I will ever be doing bussiness with. Erik is justified in starting this thread as a warning to others.
