In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

I purchased a blood python Monday June 30, 2009 from my local Pet Supplies Plus store. Thursday when I woke up I noticed the snake was dying. The recipt clearly states than any small animal or reptile has a seven day guarantee. 4 days and they will not support their warranty. They refuse to refund my money. BEWARE!

sorry to hear you're having a rough time with it. did the snake actually die? did you take the snake back to them or did you just call?

Patrick Dannelley

Did they Give any reasoning behind why they wouldn't? I know my local pet supplies plus have completely eliminated all small animals including reptiles. Im curious if that why they wouldnt refund you?

Don't accept "no" on a phone call; you may have talked to someone who doesn't know their a** from a hole in the ground. Don't just call; instead, go back to the store in the 7 days, ask to speak to the Manager, take your receipt. Take the dead snake if you still have it & take a witness.

If they do not give you money back as guaranteed on the receipt, then file a small claims action in your local court. Take a picture of the dead snake for court, take receipt, your witness to court. Get a judgment.

Hi Travis! Which PSP are you referring to? The one here in Clarksburg stinks as far as management, but the employees are pretty cool for the most part.

As long as you had a receipt, it doesn't matter what you paid for the critter. It died within their limit and you should be reimbursed or offered another.

Before filing a claim, you should try contacting their corporate office. That's usually all it takes. They will usually side with a customer and call the manager to tell them what to do. It's worth a try.

I agree. Find the managers boss and try that. If not then the bosses boss. It is a lot easier than the whole court thing and can usually be done on the phone. I know someone who works for pest supplies plus (not a typo) and I can see if he can get a number for the upper management.

My email stated:

On Monday June 29, 2009 I purchased a blood python from store #49 in Parkersburg, WV. I discovered on the morning of July 3, 2009 the animal was dead. The store refuses to refund my money despite the seven day guarantee. When I called your corporate office, they said that the manager was a very nice lady and would not deny my request. When I threatened to file a lawsuit the lady said in a very rude voice, " You do what you feel you need to do." Will my money be refunded or does legal action need to be taken?

This is what I got:

Hello Travis - Thank you for contacting the Pet Supplies "Plus" website. We are sorry to learn about the python you purchased at our Parkersburg store. Not being at the store, we can't comment on the specifics of your email, but we will forward it to the customer service manager of our stores in your area. You can be sure that she will look into this matter promptly.
Sincerely,
Joe Fucini

Thank you for your time,

Travis, In future correspondence you may want to cut down on the "legal action" threats. They know it's not going to happen and you probably do too. They are going to fix this because it is good customer service to do and bad publicity not to. The only purpose that will serve is to polarize them.

Glad to see you got a satisfactory resolution from someone. Hopefully your next blood will be healthy and thrive for you, they're great critters!

A lot of pet stores won't give you your money back on anything they've "discounted"
Why was it half off the price? Did you ask?
