    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Beware of Zach ashwood ( bad news )

Someone referred to the "boid disease." Without going though all the posts again, I think this is a valid concern. For my peace of mind, I would take the snake in immediately for a liver bio to see if this was IBD if it were my snake and had been around my animals.

So, Zach.... Still think you sent a healthy snake?

As far as I'm concerned, Zach owes the original cost of the snake and all vet costs.
 
Mike, I am very sorry for your loss, but it looks as though you did everything in your power to help this dying / now dead snake..

Zack, I am sure that once the full vet report is posted here you will agree that you may have made the wrong call on this one.. Please do the right thing here and refund 100% of Mike's money including the total cost of the vet bills.

A terrible end to the situation. I really wish things could have turned out better. No animal deserves to suffer like that. At least he was left in caring hands in the end -_-
 
Omg. Poor baby. Not only a refund but I would have paid for the vet too and offered a replacement. God that is just awful. These stories make me afraid to buy any animals!
 
Thanks for all your kind words marvin deserved a chance to grow up and become the awsome snake he was bred and born to be ... Im going to contact the origonal breeder and let him know the fate of his offspring once again many thanks to all you wonderful people who cared so much about marvin and helped me threw this nightmare The Vet offered to do a necropsy on him free so we will have yet another vet report posted asap

If someone is dumping IBD infected Boas, I think the community needs to know..it becomes bigger than just selling a couple of sick snakes to a couple of buyers.

There a plenty of quality breeders out there that take great pride in the animals they produce and sell. They are very easy to find, it is not like they are hiding in caves.

The problem is that too many buyers just want a deal. They dont want to pay the extra 5% or so to buy quality established animals from proven respected breeders.

A very large percentage of "Bad Guy" BOI threads come from people who tried to save $25 instead of buying from respected breeders.

I realize your statement was meant with the best of intentions; but having just received a snake an IBD infected snake from this seller, do you really think the buyer would/should even consider accepting a replacement from him???

There - I wanted to get that cleared up quickly.
Now, until further vet reports are in, including something that CONFIRMS IBD, let's not have people throwing those letters around. That's one heck of an accusation that can have longer reaching effects than anything that has been said here so far.
 
Yeah I know there are tons of good breeders out there, but this kind of stuff still scares me. :C And im pretty sure hed not want a replacement but im saying the seller should offer one anyway.

Im looking forward too the Necropsy report too.

IBD has not been found yet so hold off on that one. however it was a snake in poor condition when shipped, seller told buyer to just wait until it sheds, buyer did nothing until the snake went into failure to thrive conditions. the main issues here are. 1 Zach sold a snake in poor condition and unhealthy and he knew it, and 2 way too much time between not doing anything and finally going to the vet. Hope the vet shed better light on what he was tx for and the ibd report comes clean. Zach should man up, but i feel he is a snake flipper and really see's this hobby as a way to make money fast, it would not surprise me that his whole collection has some sort of illness.

It's a shame that people like Zack are in the business. It's people like him that give this business a bad name. Whether the snake had IBD or not, it is very clear that there was something wrong with it. I believe Zack dumped it so he would not have to take the loss. That is the worst thing a seller could do.

If you want to be respectable and last a long time you should just take the loss yourself. $500.00 is not worth ruining your name over, unless your name doesn't mean anything to you.

Maybe people reading this will learn from it.

Your name is who you are. If you want respect, you stand behind your name, and the products associated with it. When you screw someone over, you might be hurting them in the short term, but you are hurting yourself even more in the long term. Zack has made it clear to all of us that he is not worthy of our business.

If I had an animal like that I wouldn't even think about selling it.

I hope Zack refunds your money, but I have a bad feeling about that. He is more then likely not man enough to do it.

It's very likely Zacks other snakes could have some health problems as well. There are several diseases that are highly contagious, as most of us know. Hopefully potentiel buyers will come here first and read this thread.

Zack, you are a disgrace to the reptile community, and most of all, you are a disgrace to yourself.
