In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

BEWARE! Ron Billingsley left me hanging!

Jeff and Sammy - It was not my intention to place blame on Jeff. I came right out and said that there was no arguing the fact that if Ron couldn't deliver by the specified date, he should have said so.
I will assume that my comment about waiting until the last minute to order his supplies is the reason for the comments...I considered that more of a hint for the future, than blaming him. Look at it this way - how would you respond in a thread about a seller that couldn't ship because he neglected to order boxes or heat packs? I suspect that the idea of not advertising if he didn't have shipping supplies would come up somewhere along the line (if not from you, certainly from somebody). This really isn't all that much different. Unless his decision to vend that show was made on that short notice, Jeff could have planned it better. I'm sorry if that point of view is bothersome to anybody, but it is the way I see it.

Harald,

Again, I dont agree with your line of thinking. Once Ron made a commitment then Jeff thought he was covered for that show. If Ron would have said "no, I cant meet that deadline", then Jeff could have made other arrangements. But Ron didnt say no, he said YES. YES I CAN MEET THAT DEADLINE. So Jeff thought he was prepared for that show.

So yes, I am sure Jeff would have planned things much better if he didnt have Ron telling him he could meet that deadline.

I guess I have reading comprehension problems then, Harald.

I had started this as a PM to you, Sammy, but will post it here instead - as my final comment on the matter.

Sammy, you know I have a lot of respect for your opinions...I just happen to feel that waiting until two weeks before a show to order displays is poor planning. Heck, I ordered mine 6 weeks before I needed them, and thought I was pushing things - and I am one hell of a procrastinator.
I do absolutely agree that Ron should not have made the commitment to Jeff if he couldn't make good on it. I acknowledged it in the post that started this, in fact:
I know that the natural response is that if he couldn't deliver them by the date you needed them, he should have informed you - and there is no argument against that

I guess I am seeing this as two separate issues. 1) Ron failing to deliver the product as promised - no arguments. Jeff has every right to be upset and complain. 2) Jeff placing an order at the last minute - and this is where we seem to disagree. Again, my intention was not to "place blame" on Jeff...but I can see why it was interpreted in that way. I understand that, once Jeff had a commitment from Ron, he had no reason to seek other sources for his supplies. I also understand that, had Ron told Jeff that he couldn't meet his deadline, Jeff may not have ordered...choosing to pursue other options instead. I just happen to think he waited until the last minute, and it cost him. Maybe that line of thought is incorrect :shrug01: , but it is the one I have. I don't want to disrupt this thread any further, so if anybody wants to discuss this side topic, we can do so in General Business.

Jeff - I do understand your frustration, I have been in that position before...which is probably part of the reason that I feel the way I do (lesson learned the hard way). I'm sorry if you felt I was spinning things to blame you or take the heat off Ron. Hope the show went well for you

That is nearly correct. I already use 2 of the old school Neodesha show display units. The same day I learned that I would be adding some animals too big for the display I already use, I contacted Ron.

Mr. Moore, I am very happy that you planned ahead, and that you are getting your dispays as promised. The point of this thread was to tell my story about being left hanging. So that others like John Martino, who are thinking about buying from him know about his service. You cannot pin ANY of the situation on me, I asked he agreed.

When your display arrives, on time and hassle free, feel free to post a good guy thread and rave about your service to help redeem Ron.

Harald,

My only point is this, when Jeff ordered is really irrelevant to this situation and should not be the theme here. Which in your posts, when Jeff ordered has been the defining theme. The fact that Ron did not complete Jeff's order like he said he would, nor offer an apology of any kind for failing to do so is what is relevant here.

As I said earlier, Ron may be good with his successful transactions, but he sure dont know how to handle transactions where he drops the ball. In fact the way he handles transactions where he drops the ball is flat out unacceptable in my book. I mean how hard is it to say I am sorry? But I guess when your not sorry......

First to Susan, I am sorry I did not personally bring you your order to your table in Dayton. Friday during setup is my busiest day of the year! From 7am that morning until they threw me out at 5:30pm, I was either delievering orders or handing out orders at my tables. I was doing this all by myself, taking orders to the vendors. I even had them follow me back out to the trailer to pick up orders and try to buy more products. Luckily, a friend saw I was getting behind, and offered to help. THANK YOU JEFF! He was the gentleman who brought you your tower. When we talked via cell phone, I did not get the impression you wanted to personally meet. I could have taken the time to do just that. I apologize.
To Mr. Carr, I publicly apologize to you as well. When I left for Dayton, I gave instructions to have certain orders shipped. They did not get done. I am to blame, no one else. By the time I returned, and had no products to ship or had any shipping to do, I was at a loss. I got caught in that famous ASSUME issue.. and it made an A$$ of me, for I assumed it got handled.
There is no excuse. I failed you.
I also am failing everyone who is calling wanting products for California next weekend.
I don't have enough time to make and ship them. Time simply ran out.
I had a gentleman call today, wanting some displays this weekend in Miami. Two days to get them there.... without paying $100+ overnight shipping, it can't happen.
I understand, there is issues I need to address. All I can say, is I am going to take what ever it needs to address these issues and be more accountable for my business decisions.
In closing, I would like to thank everyone for their support this year, and in the past, and look forward to "hopefully" deserving your business in the future.
Mr Carr, I know it does not help you now, but since I did drop the ball with you, I would like to give you a tower for free for future use in upcoming shows.
Just drop me an email when you can.

Ron,
I thank you for the response and I accept your apology. I know that life and business can get hectic. I would have not come to the BOI if you had just told me that I would not recieve my display as promised.

You seem to have the best product out there, there is clearly a demand for it. I truly hope that you find a way to keep up with the demand. That should make you proud.

As far as your offer for a free tower, I am not looking to take any money out of your pocket when you still put time, money and energy into building it. But I will be willing to give you a second chance... Someone gave me one once. I will drop you an email soon...

I just wanted to let everyone know that I posted a few pages ago that I couldn't contact Ron. Well I just got of fthe phone with him. He wasn't blowing me off, he is just that busy and I was that far down on his list of people to call. He answered all my questions and I am confident we will be conducting business shortly.

I bought a couple of displays from Ron. I told him that I was driving down to the U.S. (from Canada) to pick them up. I called ahead of time to confirm that the displays were shipped and he confirmed that they were....except they weren't....

So...there I was at a UPS store in NY 1.5 hours from home with no displays...

I called him when I was there. He was at a show and it took about another 1.5 hours before he finally confirmed that he had relied on someone else and that they weren't shipped. That's allot of waiting around.

He was always polite but I had to drive back empty handed and nothing was offered as a token. He simply said that he'd pay the difference for Express shipping.

So total time wasted. 1.5 *2 for the initial trip
1.5 * 2 for the second trip
1.5 waiting around for him to get back to me on first trip.

4.5 hours.

The experience was such a hassle that I'm now getting acrylic displays fabricated in Canada and reselling them to Canadian clients.

I only make $40.00 profit on each of them, but they sell well. That's business that would have gone to Ron...never would have thought of it if it wasn't for him. You also get what you pay for....When I brought one of the displays to a fabricator to show him what I wanted done, he immediately told me that he could never match the price because he refused to build the displays like Ron's with sharp edges, end pieces, non-polished surfaces, etc.

Well I am glad Ron is trying to make good on all the bad deals. I would really like if he would make good on our BAD deal.
that when anyone is unhappy, they do get a full refund.

OK Ron I would either like my full refund of $800 or my displays shipped to me in Alberta, Canada.

My problem happened back in June or July of 07. I ordered 2 sets of the keepers with raisers. 4- 5 slots and 2- 3 slots along with 2 9" towers. Ron did ship them but they were all busted up when I got them, plus I was missing the raisers. I talked with Ron and I had to ship them back to him for insurance. Not a problem I shipped them back at a cost of $180. Now this is when it all went bad. After who knows how many phone calls and emails. Ron has either sent back my money or new displays. He no longer takes phone calls or reply's back to his emails. It is really simple I would either like my money back or the new displays shipped back to me.
At this point in time I would never send anyone to Ron to get displays unless they can catch him at a show and pick them up this way. As for ordering them I would not go this way as I have been waiting a year and no such luck.

Ball is in your court now Ron.

But, in closing, I would like to just metioned, that when anyone is unhappy, they do get a full refund.[/QUOTE

I guess this statement was another one of Ron's lies. I see that there are a couple threads on BOI about this scum bag. It's been almost 2 yrs, Ron and you have not sent Walter the displays he paid for nor have you even offered him a refund. I am sure that you could have found the time to resolve this in 2 yrs but I guess you were just too busy
