• Responding to email notices you receive.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy BEWARE SHIPPING DHL...

Sorry Mr. Velardi but in my experience none of the carriers, USPS excepted, observes the "signature required" even 10% of the time.
Wow, that sucks (does that mean they're signing the package for you?). I personally wait for my live reptiles seating in front of my house waiting for the UPS/Fedex driver, can't take any chances. Or I also leave them a HUGE note at the door saying to ring the bell several times (both drivers know me, it helps)

Carriers/drivers just tend to ignore the signature required rule or there is a bypass in their TOS allowing delivery without signatures.
As for waiting for the trucks, I am always out in the drive when live animals arrive, lol, I start pacing when I get the notice they shipped. The last time I agreed to DHL shipping, of a trio of snakes, I watched as the truck drove past the house then chased him down the next day when friends I had alerted called me and said the truck was in town. Luckily the snakes survived because it was in the 60 degree temp range that night but I had to literally block his truck with mine to stop him and get the box.

Any update on this poor lizard?

My company uses DHL to ship internationally and has never had an issue. When I was considering shipping my ebay items internationally, they recommended I go with DHL, or USPS International - who has proven to us to be very unreliable.

When it comes to domestic shipping, DHL is horrible, and like the above said, you do have to chase them down sometimes to get packages. Both times I ordered a laptop from Dell, it was left on the front steps, even though it said signature required. I must say, I have had even worse experience with FedEx, as well as USPS. FedEx will constantly be "out for delivery" then end up at a different warehouse. My USPS person will leave slips in the mailbox, as he is too lazy to walk to the door. I've been outside before - in the driveway - and he just stuck a slip in the car. I guess every shipping carrier has their downfalls (UPS destroys 9/10 packages I have shipped by them).
