    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware.... The Reptile Ranch

All 50 states have different laws concerning businesses. It is a bunch jump to assume anything. When I was getting all of my stuff ready to start a business, I went to get a business license and the city and county people all looked at me funny, like "what's that?". Different areas in the country do thing differently. :shrug01:

So I wouldn't even begin to know what the laws are for California.

Seriously, someone might want to notify them of the reputation of the previous owners, if they don't already know...Maybe it'll give'em some motivation to not follow suit...

They have nothing to do with the other business so why should someone have to warn them to given motivation?
They are 2 different businesses cased closed.

They are a new company in the same building with the same phone number as the reptile ranch thats why. The people at reptile ranch are a bunch of cheats and liars who do nothing to make sure the animals they have are healthy. They continuously sell bad animals and have have atrocious business practices. The only thing they care about is making a dollar. They care nothing for their animals let alone for any of their customers. We have purchased from them in the past and the animal was small, malnourished then died and they would have nothing to do with us after the transaction. If I were the person who moved into their old store and still had the reptile ranches old number I would want to know about the people that were here before me especially if it were a company that conducted business the way they did. This way I have a fighting chance to make my business is all it can be without the reptile ranch's bad reputation and business practices hindering any sale I made by having someone mistake them for me. So, it is not "Case Closed". I feel someone should show the new owners what kind of people had set up shop in that building before him just for his protection. With all the bad feedback and reputation about the reptile ranch on the BOI I would be grateful if someone to tell me if I were in their position.

Did you read my post? They are now in a different building, with a different address, and a different name. The only thing they have in common is the phone number which they may have done at the time because they didn't know about the previous owners rep. and may have wanted to keep the same local customers. Either way, it would be silly now to just change their phone number due to the other companies bad rep.

Why would it be silly???? They changed everything else....isn't that silly??? Why stop at the phone number???

I would even have the name "Reptile" or "Ranch" any where near my "new" business name....so why keep the phone number?

I don't get your logic.....

I don't think the new owners bought the business knowing the bad rep of The Reptile Ranch. I'm sure if they had, they would have changed the number and probably made their business name more unique. However, I'm not sure what it would accomplish by alienating their current customers by changing their phone number now.

Well....their new customers know where they are. Maybe they should get the word out that they aren't The Reptile Ranch.....I would start by changing the numbers, name and anything else associated with the previous scumbags....that's just my opinion though. If I am going to invest in a business I would want to do it right rather than fail on some other's wrong doings...
