In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Beware.... The Reptile Ranch

I had 1 transaction with The Reptile Ranch this spring, March I think, may have been April and I bought an Abult Albino Giant Leo. He can in with a freebie and was packed OK. He weighed if I can remember 75 or so grams, he went from that to 100 in a month so I wondered if he was an adult or a sub adult sold as an adult. Either way the deal was fine.

Thanks Guys!

I was going to pick up a group of fat tails as a x-mas gift for my nephew just this afternoon from them. I guess I'll have to pass on that deal.

Thanks for the heads up guys. The BOI works! Maybe Laura and Chuck will realize the importance of settling these disputes in light of loosing this sale.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people stay in business. If someone sent me a sick animal that could possibly infect my collection it would be devistating to the animals and future plans. If they are selling sick animals couldn't they be reported to an animal welfare agency in thier area. Nothing matters to me more than the welfare of the animals, and it sickens me to see people such as Laura profitting off of the sick and preying on the unsuspecting buyers. Yet another to add to the "do not do business list."

That just sucks when people dont don't keep there end of the bargain :)

AJ and Jim sorry to here that you got the shaft.

Tom Greek is the best RepVet in our area and hopefully there team can shed some light on this situation.

This only going to hurt Laura and chuck, she should come clean.

What is there last name?

I have done business with Jim and AJ earlier this year and there nice people :)

Good guys hope things work out

Thanks

Thanks Tony, I appreciate the support. Every snake we've received from you has done great. We spoke to Dr. Greek and all the surviving snakes are being treated for bacterial infections. If their condition does not improve in two weeks he advises that we put the snakes down. The symptoms they are experiencing can only be explained by a bacterial infection or IBD. What really bothers me the most, is The Reptile Ranch’s refusal to respond. Here is what their About Us link says on their website.

We at The Reptile Ranch have been breeding reptiles for over 20 years and have 25 years experience. We are devoted to the proper care and education of every animal sold. For years we have focused our attention on QUALITY, CARE, AND COMMITMENT, that is what we live by. This is reflected in the HIGH QUALITY of our animals.
We operate an offsite closed breeding facility to ensure the health of our animals and sell only top quality animals. We will never sell any animal that is questionable in health and are committed to making sure every animal is sold with the absolute best advice for each species.
Once you do business with us, we know you will be a life long customer. We hope you enjoy our site and if you have any comments or questions feel free to email us.
Enjoy!
Chuck and Laura

I wonder…..will anyone who reads this post be a life long customer?

They have moved their business a few times in the past years in the Bay Area. I guess there reputation got so bad that they moved to the Central Valley.
They screwed us pretty hard when we lived there, when they sold us (known to them) sick animals. After that we never set foot back into their store.
Laura is only concerned with making money. If she needs to lie and deceive to do it, she will.

It is far too common now that pet store reptiles come with a sickness. This is disgusting. Is it really that hard to be honest AND have healthy animals? I am sick of these people!

Here is a "To Do" list for all you scumbags who cannot conduct a good business:

I will not lie
I will not sell sick snakes
I will not false advertise
I will not sell parasite ridden animals
I will not keep wild caught with captive bred
I will not allow sick animals contact healthy animals
I will use proper quarantine
I will keep my animals healthy
I will feed my animals
I will keep my animals cages clean
I will folllow proper husbandry
I will provide proper info on care for each animal I sell
I will make sure you are ready to take on such animals
I will be easily contacted for any questions regarding your purchase
I will be prompt with my business
I will provide you the best quality and service
Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you!

Do NOT take this lightly!!!!

To all of you that I have done business with who are honest: Thank you!
To all of you who are honest that I do not know: Thank you!
You, are the examples in this business and hobby, you are the ones that will receive more from your honesty than scumbags that stiff others ever will. When this life is over, the honest will be rewarded.

The scums, well I do not want to even know them because of the punishment coming their way.

The answer is in this thread. I believe it would be NO, they are not affiliated.

Thanks Chuck.. I guess I missed that.

By the way that reduced male I picked up from you in Md is breeding so hopefully we'll see if it's genetic or not in a few months..

Who We Are

I wanted to clear up any confusion without going off topic. We are NOT related to Prehistoric Pets in Fountain Valley. I have owned the location in Chino since 1998. Originally, we used the DBA “Prehistoric Pets – Chino” but since we incorporated we started using our legal name Prehistoric Pets, Inc. Reptileguru.com is our online entity and hopefully this will clear up any confusion.
I have been emailing The Reptile Ranch to get them to respond in this forum. Unfortunately, they have completely ignored all of my emails. I find it sad that people like Chuck and Laura are in business and they could care less about their customers. I have on many occasions gone beyond my TOS to satisfy unhappy customers for whatever reason. In business things will go wrong and some customers may be unhappy but what makes a business succeed is what you do to make things right. Thank you.

No signs of improvement...

I just wanted to update everyone on the condition of the snakes. I have given, now, three injections of Amikacin (as recommended by Dr. Greek) and have not seen any signs of improvement. I was told to wait two weeks before expecting any results, so there is still time. Thanks again for all of your time and support.

Colubrids?....

I wonder if colubrids could be affected/infected by whatever their collection MAY HAVE been exposed to. There is a "reptile ranch" posting on the indigo forum at ks endorsing future indigo hatchlings and mentioned that all of their animals are breeding early this year.

On the Indigo forum at KS...

hey Dean thanks for the info. We have bred Indigos for several years and you are right, they usually dont lay til March. But this year they bred in Sept. So hopefully, maybe some early kids! All of our critters are breeding EARLY this year.

thank you! I will def. let EVERYONE know when the kids are here!

I don't really think it matters. I wouldn't buy anything from them after seeing the multiple negative posts. Period!

Rrrg. I wonder how Laura's little kid would like it if they knew Mommy blamed her shady business practices on "oh, you know how kids are... they must've put the package down..."

All they had to do was return my $250.00 and everything would have been O.K.
All I tried to do was return a missexed animal . I'm still out $250.00

Not to get off topic, as we need to concentrate on the ripoffs that are occuring by these losers, but.....If it is the same folks that's just two of many reasons I stopped hanging out on KS a couple years ago. 1. it is a safe haven for the scum, and 2. It seems that's all the posts are anymore, free advertising. Posting ads in the forums is against the TOS, yet what purpose does a post like that serve? To many posts "check out my snakes" or photos of snakes hatching, and that's it, and everybody knows who they are so it's basically an ad.
