In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Looking to get a couple het lucy snakes from them and couldn't find any previous reviews, they have plenty of ads up here and on kingsnake. Website looks legit, called and seemed nice, if anyone can vouch for them give me a shout.

BHB is a big player in the world of ball pythons, Brian is extremely nice and top notch.
There are tons of wonderful medium and small breeders here too as well.

Good luck.

I haven't ordered an animal from them personally, but I just wanted to let you know that his YouTube channel is probably the biggest reptile show on the internet. Just in case you were curious to see their facility and quality of the animals for yourself.

https://www.youtube.com/user/SnakeBytesTV

I've been watching for a while. Brian's definitely a super nice, high-energy, helpful guy!

One caveat: They have a few employees to look after their thousands of enclosures, and while they are obviously attentive to the animals' needs, just be aware that any animal you get from them comes from a GIGANTIC store and individualized attention for each animal was minimal.

As other have correctly said BHB is ENORMOUS.

I literally can't think of a more popular breeder right now than BHB. Runs probably the most famous exclusively reptile based Youtube channel.

Side note: He does resell a lot of animals (order them from other breeders and sells them in house) but why not? The guy has a HUGE fanbase and can move inventory faster than anyone out there. I gave up trying to get a carpet python through him years ago because he would sell out overnight.

Ok, I guess I'll say it.

With an operation of that size, there are bound to be health issues and/or parasites. I do not personally believe they have done what needs to be done to properly ensure the health and cleanliness of animals that leave their facility, perhaps because they are seen more as inventory and less as animals.

Furthermore, I do not believe much of his YouTube content is beneficial to the future of this hobby, nor was his stint on the short lived "Venom Hunters".

As someone who has been affected by communicable disease within a collection, I personally would not consider bringing animals in from BHB, despite my protocol of a 3-6 month quarantine period. If I only had 1 or 2 other snakes, I might roll the dice if they had something really special, but that's about it.

My $.02.

I would recommend doing additional research beyond the BOI.

I was a person that went from "definitely buying from BHB" to "never buying from BHB". I do not think he is a good breeder or a good figure head for the industry.

last year i got a scaleless lucy texas rat snake from them and everything went fine and answered all my questions. they run a pretty large operation there but I havent had any problems yet.

Care, upkeep and attentiveness can be accomplished at both a small or large operation, it really comes down to the people involved. 'Size' alone is a poor indicator of the quality & care provided by said group.

This is my email to the sales team at BHB. Definitely could have went better.

I've been to BHB several times, to pick up purchases. (They're not far from me). All of the times I've been there, everything looked clean, and there were always a half-dozen employees there, cleaning and feeding. All of the animals I purchased were healthy, but I quarantine for at least three months, regardless of the source.

I know BHB breeds a lot of snakes at their facility. The problem is if they buy wholesale from other breeders. I don't know that for sure, but you can't control how other people maintain their facilities. With the volume of animals they move through there, I find it hard to believe they've never had any issues.

I also have to agree with Mike. I've watched a lot of "Snake-Bytes" videos, and I think Brian's gone "Hollywood", to some extent. A lot of the videos are very "sensationalized", with the dramatic theatrics with some of his larger, more aggressive snakes. I think that's sending the wrong message to some younger viewers, who may be new to the hobby.

Just my two cents as well.
