In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry BHB Rodents?

I ordered some from them last week - 50 pinkies and 50 fuzzy mice. I usually only get my rodents at expos but I won't be able to make it to one until July.

They got shipped out to me very fast. I opted for 2 day shipping even though a lot of people will only go with next-day. The dry ice was still very cold in the styrofoam box when it made it to my house. I was relieved that the large mice pinks were actually larger than day-old pinks, 'cause I swear I always get tiny little things when I buy them.

The price was certainly right even with shipping. I haven't really been able to find fuzzy/hopper mice for under $1.25 ea locally. I'll probably buy again once I need rats for my ball pythons if I can't get good sized/priced ones at a show.

I received a box of 50 large rats, 50 medium, 50 small, and 30 pups on friday. Box was from another food company and was badly abused by postman. Upon opening the box, the styrofoam wall was completely kicked in on one side.

The rats were thawed and there was no dry ice left because of this. I am currently waiting on BHB Rodents to call me back and I will reply here or create a new review thread based upon their customer service and response time.

Rats looked pretty good.

Sam,
If they are not viable for your snakes please donate to a wildlife center near your house. I had a freezer get unplugged and donated a fridges worth and they were so thankfull because raccoons and other scavengers eat them when they are to far gone for our snakes. V/r Paige

Ah Paige, that is a phenomenal idea! Unfortunately I disposed of all the rats immediately to a dumpster, which felt horrific, needlessly throwing away once living creatures. I will definitely donate spoiled rodents to the local center in the future.

I was mostly concerned with keeping pathogens away from my colony, but I believe most people will be surprised how many centers are available, at least in Illinois.

I am still waiting for a reply from BHB Enterprises. I left another voicemail today and sent another email. I figure I called after hours on Friday, so they have 24 hours to respond as of this morning.

I can't imagine Brian wanting to tarnish his credibility, or that of SnakeBytes TV. The rodents looked to be of high quality, and I'm sure this is solely a shipping issue. Regardless, I have a colony of very hungry snakes and I would like an immediate refund to get these guys some sustenance.

Thanks everyone,
Sam M.

I can't say how pleased I am with the way BHB Rodents handled this issue. The rodents are indeed of very high quality, and all issues were due to UPS.

Within a few hours of emailing them during business hours (I had previously called during the weekend, after hours) Brian contacted me personally explaining the situation, and offering an immediate refund. It was pretty clear by the way the box was broken that some UPS mailman drop kicked the package on/off his truck.

Brian, BHB Rodents/Enterprises, handled this situation extremely well and left me a happy customer. They are good people over there and I will be ordering from them again in the future.

Thanks everyone,
Sam M.

I had the same issue. UPS, not BHB, mishandled the shipment and Brian has been top notch with how he is handling the situation.

I am pleased with how BHB is stepping up to cover a mistake that UPS made.

Also if I was Brian and keep having these UPS issues with damaged goods I would look into contacting the corporate bosses and complaining. This is bad news for anyone ordering from anywhere not just with Brian. If the issue keeps going then there will be alot of business losing alot of money due to being mishandled during shipping. Not the customers fault nor the shipper themselves but regardless there are feeders going to waste and money being lost either way.
