In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I saw a Big Apple YouTube video for an adult female Miami corn snake and purchased her. I do not think the snake I received is a Miami. :shrug01: They have offered to take her back, I pay for shipping, because I am unhappy with the Miami. If it's the snake I purchased, that is more than reasonable. If it's not the snake I purchased, it's not reasonable at all. I am looking for impartial input into the situation. The first 3 pictures are the snake I received, the last 2 are screen shots from the YouTube Video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eYY1hK0egCE

Not the same snake.

Miamis are very distinctive with grey background colors. Yours is clearly more copper or brown.

The snake from the video also has solid black belly checkers with slightly paler corners. The one you received has black checks with brown centers.

I don't believe it's the same snake.

I attached photos for comparison that clearly show these two things.

I meant I attached screenshots that appear more clear than the ones you posted in your first post. Yours appear a bit blurry to me, so hopefully these are clearer.

I agree with the others. Two different snakes.
Different color, different ventral patterns/colors, and what appears to be different dorsal patterns.
IMO With it being their error, they should pay return shipping.

Agreed, they should pay for the shipping, since it is their mistake, not yours. It's not that you're "unhappy" with the snake, you don't have buyer's remorse. It does not appear to be the same snake at all, and they should make it right without having you pay to send the animal back to them.

Please note, Steven Spitz, CEO of Big Apple, and Gina, Pet Care Consultant, are not denying sending this actual animal. What they are saying is that this specific snake is the Miami Corn from the YouTube Video. They are telling me that the difference in its appearance could be due to a shed between the making of the video and its arrival at my house.

No. Snakes aren't geckos, patterns don't change that dramatically, she'd or no shed.

Darlene, I would be very clear with Big Apple... You are un happy because, they sent the wrong snake. Not BC you are not happy with the snake!!

Looking at the images, they def look- like two different snakes. But then again, the one you have, looks Cleaner (just saying)!!!

This was what I was going to say. I know everyone disagrees with me but I'd like to see a full picture of the back of the snake you received. There is one very definitive marking on the back of the one in the video that I want to see on the one you have (or not see, either way it will tell me).

I agree with the above. The snake you recived has better markings imo.

I've taken pictures of the same snake on different days and had them appear like completely different animals. It can be the lighting, if the snake is nearing shed or just coming out of shed, camera...any number of things. I don't see anything in the pattern that tells me for sure that it's a different snake, there is one marking that will tell me for sure that it is. If that specific marking isn't there then I'm on board with the others.

Did they specifically say the snake in the video was the one you were buying? I know sometimes with companies like big apple they have multiple snakes of the same species and make a video or take pics of just one that represents then species but when you buy one they pick one out and send it. You almost never get the one pictured unless it specifically says the picture is of the exact animal your buying. I'm not a snake person so I have no idea if the snake you recieved is actually the species you purchased but if it is it's totally possible you just didn't get the one in the video.

Regardless, belly checkers do not change and they are different on the two snakes.

I considered this too.
However, before I posted, I had sought out the video and watched/listened to it.
In the video, they specify that the snake (female Miami) was the exact animal for sale. Nothing to indicate it was a representative.
