    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Big Apple Pet Supply

Its a bad business , with a terrible reputation

for purchasing live animals. They are brokers. They never see the animals they are advertising for sale as they are shipped out of some other state other then NY... Because of there TOS its basically impossible to return something and pay shipping 3 times around and be a satisfied customer... No one does business that way, and why would anyone make it so

difficult to provide a simple service as a replacement. No good will, just email's from an anonymous person, more then likely in a different state as well. Big Apple expects you to pay for the item, pay for returning it and repay again if it is to be shipped back.... This is done purposely . I no of no company in the US that operates with the intention of making a customer miserable as Big Apple. Stay away. A warning. JERRY

LOL! Jerry your post read a little like Yoda was talking. Maybe I need more coffee.

I've ordered from these guys in the past and it took a while but the damaged issues were resolved. Most all companies do make the seller pay return shipping. It's kinda like the gas money you spend taking a faulty item back to the store. (Heck with gas prices it may be cheaper, lol!) I don't expect Home Depot to drive to my house to pick up the broken lawn mower, I drive it back.

I rarely pay return shipping on a defective item. What usually happens is that the dealer sends me a shipping label in one way or another and I use that to return the item. Any business that requires the buyer to pay return shipping on an items that is defective or that was shipped in error (such as you ordered one thing and they sent another) is a dealer that is, in my opinion, not being a good business person. It does not matter if they mention that in their TOS or not, them actually having such a policy is poor business. They obviously do not stand behind the products they sell nor their service in selling them.

That said, I have dealt with Big Apple before. I have bought several things from them, some that were shipped and others I was able to pick up from them. I got decent deals, friendly service, but luckily never had to ship something back to them. I also got some absolute junk from them in the form of Mercury Vapor bulbs. The lack of quality in them was sorely obvious. Not something they manufsacture but they do sell it. I have not bought from them since.

Hey Bloodybarones

We are talking about living material here not light bulbs that need to be returned.... No one should ever receive Chameleolis barbatus at $ 525.00 per animal have it arrive blind, immatiated and unable to eat. No one should have to indure paying to ship it back either. So dont be so smart with the Yoda remark. I am not in the mood for that nonsense... If you want to have an intellegent discussion about their TOS, thats fine, but add some commn sence if you want to participate in this thread....

The fact is, after questioning the Big Apple about allowing me to speak to the shipper who actually shipped the falses chameleons, I was denied, nor would they allow me to email the actual shipper... All they did was refer me to there TOS which they seem to relish hiding behind..

I had the opportunity to ship back the little guy, but it would have caused death, and the choice was simple. I tried my best to keep him alive knowing full well that if I did not return the animal (at my expense) the charge back that I instituted would go in Apple's... It did. I have lost money in the past and I am sure it will be that way in the future..... The object in any transaction of this type is to limit the liabilty as much as possible.. I have been in this business for almost 50 years now and I really get upset when you Bloodbarones seem to make light of this situation by trying to compare this to a Home Depot experience.... Shame on you ! Its not over for Big Apple either... JERRY TRESSER THE PHOTOS TELL THERE OWN STORY. This what I received after I paid inadvance. This is there guarantee that the animal is healthy, sexed correctly, and all the other lies assoctiated with there business.....Maybe someone smarter than me can explain how one had the audacity to ship merchandise like that and expect repeate business.....
