    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Well this is the first time i have got the chance to post a good guy for good phone service , but i must say i just got off the phone with the sales at Big Apple and there most helpful in answering questions put forth to them on there products and giving a true account of reliability of there products offered  . well enough  small talk just wanted to say thanks for the information  received and hope to be doing LOTS more buisness in the future !!
 
I would like to add my compliments to "Big Apple" - I've ordered twice from their company - once via the net and the other time by phone.  Great customer service, even helped me with solving some heating problems and saved me money.  Their shipping procedure is painless and quick.  

I especially like their proportional Thermostat.  It's worked very well for my racks!

Best of all - as a milk-toast Minnesotan, you gotta love those great New York Accents on the phone!!

Big Apple Herp has great customer service and products. I ordered 5 of their new mercury vapor bulbs, when I received them the package was crushed and 2 of the 5 bulbs were damaged. I called them and they send 2 replacement bulbs right away without even making me send the damaged ones back. I have ordered from them quite a few times and have never had any problems.

I too have order from Big Apple when I was first starting to build racks for my corns.  They not only shipped quickly and professionally, but they also were very helpful as I made my purchases concerning how much of each material I would need for each rack size.

Bad service on my end.
I e-mailed for a price on 54 zoo-med 5.0 bulbs and said I was shopping around for prices, so that I could purchase from whomever would give the best deal. Well I got a e-mail from them saying that they would beat any other competitor but they would not give me a price. So I e-mailed back and asked for a price again !. They e-mailed me again and asked what prices the other places gave me and They said they would not sell me 4 and ahalf cases I could get 48 bulbs Well I e-mailed back again and said I was still waiting to hear from the other places.
Long story short, they said I probably was never going to purchase them anyway so why hassel with it.
So I bought 66 bulbs from the BEAN FARM, that's 5 and 1/2 cases. Now they have great services, no hassels no waiting !!!!!
I will never by from the big apple again.

I just wanted to add to this thread. I have purchased from big apple herp on several occasions (the last time was this past sunday and I received my package today)

The always process through the orders and ship promptly I will not hesitate to purchase from them again and again and plan to do so many more times over the next few years..

I used to buy from Bush Herpetological. When they quit I decided to switch to Apple. So far I have bought from them twice and everything went fine. Will buy again.

I've ordered from Big Apple no less then 4 times in the past year. The orders have always been shipped fast and arrived safely. I've called them several times to ask questions and they have always been very helpful.:D
 
I just dealt with Big Apple Herpetological for the first time last Monday. I sent them an email, late Monday night, inquiring about some sexing probes they had for sale. I received an email, from Andy their director of Internet sales, early the next day. Much to my satisfaction he agreed that I could make arrangements to pick up my order instead of having it shipped, and gave me a number to call.

On Friday, I called that number and dealt with Steve, who was personable and professional. He set up an account for me, and took my order. I picked up the order later the same day. Everything was just as I could have wanted it, and the young lady who handed me the probe sets and took the money was very polite and very professional too.

As for the product it was what was expected, looks to be of good quality, and was purchased at a great price.

All in all a very good transaction, and I would definitely do business with them again.
 
I've bought from Big Apple. Prompt replies and they shipped out when they said. Order arrived fine and was better than expected.
 
I LOVE BIG APPLE


I have bought many things on the net for reptile and other Hobbies... The best case is, I was looking for 4" heat tape for a babie rack... I found a company that had it... So I just placed the order with them (I WILL LEAVE THERE NAME OUT OF IT)... It was Sunday night So they could get started on it Monday morning, The web site said a ship date of Thursday so I waited for the email conf. Well Thursday came so did the following weekend Monday rolls around NO E-MAIL... I am by now cutting the rack so close I have a shippment on 25 babie boas coming on Wensday and no place to put them... I start to panic I call BIG APPLE and speak to a sale's person told them my problem and they gave me some tips about 3' tape like use foil tape to make the extra size... So I place a total new order with Big Apple 150.00 +/- again... I live on the East Coast so I am in there 2 to 3 buissness window... So I get the shippment buy Wensday to finish the rack with no time to spair... Tuesday I get a emal with 4 different tracking # of thing I am going to recive... Well come to find out the Company just take's the orders and it is droped shipped from everywere accross the U.S.A. ... Well about 1 week after Big Apples order arrives I start to get my first order... The LAST thing I get is the HEAT TAPE... So I will never order supplys frome any but BIG APPLE again I have run into things that they don't supply but they give me the name of a good commpany the trust...

big apple did me wrong and i will refuse to buy from them after they cut me off with my 2nd blown CTS bulb and blocked my email adress.

i got my first CTS bulb from them in june 3 days later it blew, i emailed them sent the one back they sent me a new one. they told me after the first one broke, that it was a 1 in 1 million problem. less than 2 months later the replacement blew. i emailed the 2-3 times, no response . my iguana's sitting in a cage with no UV lighting (waiting on BAH to exchange the bulb), finally got rid of the iggy to someone. it had gotten mean during that time, we also were worring that the lack of uv would start to hurt her (about a month had passed with no real uv lighting, some days in sunlight for a couple of hours). i still wanted what i paid good money for so i emailed them back this time i wasnt happy i used the d word in the email. though i regret it now, but after almost 2 months of emailing them trying to get a exchange i lost my patience.

they replied that they will not respond to email with foul language in it. i cleaned it up and sent it back and said im sorry and exlained i was just getting agrivated that this was the first time in 3 emails, only to finally reply to and only to tell me that. waited, nothing. after 3 more emails spanning another month they emailed me to inform me that they will not deal with me because of that one email.

i can almost understand why, but i was at the end of my rope worring about my iggy. they had known that i had a iggy that the light was being used on and everything.
i didnt run out and buy another mvb bulb during the time, cause i seen it as a waste of money when i figured i was going to get another cts bulb. they had also known this cause i was telling them this.

but in the end i was out the $40 for the first bulb and almost $20 in ups shipping to ship that one back. denied a refund or exchange all because i use a word even some cartoons use.

i dont know if anyone would side with me on this or not. i tried to contact the BBB, heard nothing from them yet. which is odd, cause i had sucess with them before against a computer company that was selling broken used processors as new oems. oh well lesson learned, just glad it wasnt alot of money.
 
I buy from them at least once a month...Awsome all around from the customer service to the products...And I love me some coupons...

I have used Big Apple several times. I Had one problem once with a defective thermostat. They sent another one overnight. Never another problem, only excellent communication and customer service. Works for me!

Just purchased a snake hook from Big Apple

Ordered it yesterday, received it today. Can't argue with that -- and it's a great snake hook to boot.
 
I've had nothing but a good experience every last time with Big Apple. :) I've ordered about half a dozen times over the past 3 years. Last order was made on Monday for some rodent lab water bottles. Received them yesterday. I love the fast shipping!

I have not personally done business with this company, but if this was their rationalization for not re-imbursing you for the product, I think it is a pretty poor excuse for not "dealing" with a customer. I mean this is the reptile industry and I would say the d word would be the least of what is used and using that as justification not to honor your product says a lot about a company regardless of how many good sales they do. And if somebody I did business with failed to respond after 2-3 emails requesting their assistance (within a reasonable time of course), I would be apt to cuss too. Shame on the company for not responding in the first place and then shame on them for the pathetic reason for not "dealing" with the customer, especially when the person apologizes.

I think that, unless there is something more to this than is being offered here, I would be apt to shop elsewhere.

Big Apple - Big Thumbs Up

I wrote to Big Apple with some questions about the heating requirements for an 8' x 3' x 30" home for a Burm. They were most helpful; I ordered the necessary parts on Friday. They arrived today.

I've placed several orders with Big Apple. If they keep up this stellar level of customer service and prompt shipping, I'm likely to place many more.
