    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

A guy messaged me with these pictures
Aaron, can you share with us 'who' this was?

Mike Lee, since you are here now viewing your thread, can you help shed some light on the pictures you are using?

The message i got with same pictures were from Damien Serna on facebook. Im not sure to to post pictures on reply thread.

I’ll vouch for alternaguy (the first one to post these turtles). I’ve had many dealings with him and he’s 100% legit in my experience.

To clarify, for everyone's curiosity, I made a package deal that included all of my hatchling Big Headed turtles, for Lee Mike. What he wants to do with them and the photos I had on Fauna is his business now. I run a legitimate business. I answer to Fish & Game departments in several states as well as to the USFWS. As an Importer and Exporter I am constantly required to show proof that my activities are not detrimental to the survival of the species (of every type of CITES II animal I work with). Despite causing an argument I am going to say I am disappointed that Nicholas has shown his stupidity in assuming that everyone that works with something rare or unusual is doing so with smuggled animals. I would also like to show my appreciation for Bill Caldecutt for his support within this thread. Thank You Bill!

I think I’d take it personally if someone said I was an outlet for smuggled animals. But I’m pretty sensitive. ;-)

Congrats on the sale, Richard!

In my stupidity, I would like to offer high praise to a seller who would be so generous in a group price that the reseller could sell animals previously posted at $750+ for $500+. To ensure profitability, that would have had to have been very generous indeed. ;)

Richard, thank you for the clarification. I have been conned once, luckily for a few hundred bucks. But I know folks that have been taken for a lot more, up to $10,000! So I think paranoia runs deep! ANyways, just wanted to ask if you could share how you keep the parents? Do you allow them to hibernate?

Mike, do you still have them and how much are they?

I just went to the CITES website and sure enough it appears, as of Oct. 04, 2017, the Big Headed turtles status has changed and is now listed as CITES I. I would like to thank kenf for bringing this to my attention. Laws change and sometimes they sneak up on you without being aware of the changes. Maybe the IUCN Redlist has not updated their website as of yet.
