Now that I think back when I was on the phone with Bill, he stated that he owned five houses and spent 20 years in service when he was 16. I wonder if these too were lies. Or when he posted his numerous snakes for sale saying when he arrived back from Texas there was a fire in his office and lost all the paperwork for the snakes. Was this too a lie? I am not trying to start another "riot" (as my girlfriend called this thread). These are just things that come to mind when I think about this situation.

It makes me sad to see that a young guy like yourself who is just starting to roll
in this industry has to suffer a rude awakening by having a so called "Good Guy" of the industry try to rip you off. Makes you, me and everybody else wonder who they can really trust to do business with. I also feel sorry for all of the young kids interested in the hobby who have to worry about guys like Sal, Ray-Ray, Tim Bowles and Bill Leverton lurking in plain sight, sniffing for the opportunity to take advantage of an easy mark. Looks like Bill guessed wrong on you my friend. Congradulations on helping out just one more scammer!

I have the same emotion and attitude you have to the situation, but at the same time I just cant seem to pull the trigger. And.....I don't why. I don't have a problem with anyone else scoping him down and taking a shot if they need to, but I'm not fit for duty on this one. I'm far too conflicted. I think if Bill is reading this he knows what he did to me on this one. I feel like the devil with a broken pitch fork. I think he knows this, and I think his knowledge of this is by far worse than anything I could write to hurt his feelings.

I find it QUITE interesting that SO many of you know what another of you was thinking. I find it quite interesting that so many of you know WHY he did what he did. I find it quite interesting that it is only NOW, now that he has been busted, confessed and pummeled, NOW you realize that you had the ability to read another man's thoughts, determine his motivations for his actions, to, in effect, walk a mile in his shoes.

Bill has NOT come completely clean on this. I still don't REALLY know WHY he did this. I don't know if he's done it before, if he planned to do it again, if this ENTIRE mess, if indeed it is a mess and not something pre-meditated, is as it seems, just a mess or was in fact a small part of some larger and much more nefarious scheme.

But I reckon some of you do, so how about enlightening me, since I can't KNOW the why's and how's that belong to another man without HIM having told me what they are himself.

Summa y'all need to think about what YOU'RE saying.

This is NOT to defend Bill. It's to say to you Faithful Fauna Readers that YOU may want to speculate on your speculations and perhaps ponder what those speculations are saying about YOU. How many of you who normally clamor for facts actually have any right now to back up what you THINK happened, may have happened or may have been planned to happen at some future date? IF any of you have ANY facts of such nature, why then did YOU not out Bill yourself? And, if you DON'T have any facts, what EXACTLY, are your suppositions worth?

The why's for Bill's actions, the reasons leading him to this dumbass move, are not, most likely, going to change anything in regards to what he did or how I feel about it. I'd still like to know though.

I agree that if this was a one time deal, a got caught first time out of the gate type of thing, as I hope it is but must admit to suspecting it may not be, then the simple disappointment expressed by myself and most of you will eat at him WAYYYYYYYYY more than being torn apart here.

Hey.....uh.....I'm having a hard time grasping just exactly what you are alluding too. I mean you are begining to sound like one o them grassy knoll dudes. Can you splain it to me in a nutshell Wes. I'm kinda slow on the uptake if you know what I mean.

I just got done catching myself up from page 23. I would like to say I am 21 and don't have any kids. I have been in this hobby since I had my first litter of sand boas when I was 16. I didn't want to sell this snake but had to, along with a few others to pay May's rent. When Bill told me the snake was missing, I didn't question his word because of his reputation. I sucked it up and refunded his money. I then started to wonder what I was going to do for rent. When Bill called me and said not to send the remaining $175 I considered it a blessing. I told him what a great guy I thought he was. I still had to barrow a $100 from a friend to make rent but it could have been more if Bill wasn't so kind. I don't know what made Bill do this and why he decided to pick me. At the time I am sure he was just thinking of the benefits of it and not how it affects other people or the consequences of getting caught. Snakes are starting to drop and money is starting to flow again. Money is no longer an issue for me.

OK then, Bill...ship Lee the snake that he didn't want to sell and you don't need. Then you're the one out the $200. Now that would be the right thing to do.

Is the scenario you see, the one created by Bill and Lee and all of us that are participating, truly ALL there is to this OR is it possible that there are as yet unknown factors?

It's a coconut shell but that way there's room to get in and think about it.

Although I would agree that what Bill did is UNBELIEVABLY RETARDED, masochistic and makes no sense whatsoever considering the moneys involved(unless of course that was just a spilled drop in a larger scam bucket) AND smacks too me of someone BEGGing to get busted or just enjoying the adreneline rush of trying to pull this sick crap off.

I'm sorry but until someone comes forward with some incredible revelation or at least suggests SOME sort of theory like a parallel universe or something, I wiill just stick to my ASSumptions based on what I percieve to be VERY strong evidence offered by the accuser BOLSTERED BY THE ADMISSION OF GUILT BY THE ACCUSED SCAMMER!

Thats a DAMN good question there Jim. I'm sure Bill can explain that question and his answer could be easily verified with a little detective work as a follow up. I don't think that Wes is saying that what went on behind the scenes...things we cannot know...justify Bill's actions, but they might shed light on the ultimate character that Bill possesses.

Many people on here are making judgements and assumptions about Bill's motives and then making conclusions about Bill based on those judgements and assumptions.

I cannot make those judgements based on things I do not know. I am sorry so many of you can.

I do not condone Bill's actions. But I do not think he deserves to be drawn and quartered.

That is the joy of not only the BOI but the USA and being citizens of each. We can each of us assimilate facts as we wish, cognate and ponder, then act as we see fit. Just as you are. Just as I am.

I still think there is more to this than I, just me, know and I am not yet satisfied. The fact that you are satisfied is all well and good. At least we won't be mistaken one for the other, being such handsome men as we are, by what we believe and how we believe it.

No....he deserves to be ostrasized and cast aside along with the rest of the scammers he has cast in his lot with. If you have viewed this thread, weighed the evidence at hand and can honestly come to the conclusion that there is not enough evidence to prove that Bill Leverton pulled a low down dirty scam.........I feel sorry for you.
