In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was checking the ks classifieds in the arboreal boids section and i found this add, with a very sick/malnurished/dehydrated gtp. You can see signs of stuck shed, and its ribs and backbones are showing, not a very good sign of good health. He claims its been in his care for 2 years, well i dont know how its survived that long, even if he is telling the truth. It is said that slim males do well as breeders, but they arent supposed to be that skinny! That thing is not gonna breed, much less live, unless its nursed back to health ASAP. Anyone ever dealt with this guy? I know im not buying from this guy in the future, I would be embarassed to put something in that condition for sale.

I saw the ad as well. I e-mailed him letting him know that animal is dehydrated and one of the most malnourished animals I have ever seen and it was not fit to be sold in that condition. Attached is a screen shot of the ad. I will post a screen shot of the picture of the animal on the next post.

I don't know how to take screenshots of the ad, but here is his reply to the e-mails he received:

I will have new pictures of this male chondro in the next few days. I pulled the pictures because they were just no good. He does not have stuck shed on his head, nor is he dehydrated. He also eats on a regular basis. He is misted down twice a day and has a large water bowl. Again, this animal has been in my collection for almost two years now. I don't have a female for him, so I have decided to sell him. I am asking $500 (no trades please, but price is negotiable) for him which includes the aquarium he is in. I don't want to ship him because he is being sold with a glass aquarium. Again, I am sorry about the bad pictures, but there is nothing wrong with him. Feel free to call me with any question. Please no calls after 10:00 PM EST.

Does he know that this thread exists?

to perform a screen shot you first open the page you want to shot, hit your "print screen" button on the top right of your keyboard, then in your photo program edit, paste as new image, save as "name it". Then you can attach that file to your thread your posting.

Also in response to my e-mail to him about the animal he had pictured I received the following e-mail. Also I ave sent him a link to this thread.

hello,I'm sorry you think this snake looks so bad its the picture not the snake.I'm working on it check back soon.Bill

More BS

Thanks

What is wrong with Tim Coplan

I cant understand why someone would post a message like this without having ever seen the animal or had prior dealings with Bill. The only thing that you have ever seen is a very bad picture of a excellent animal. I have seen this animal almost every week for a year or so now, and I will say this animal and all animals that are kept by him are very well cared for. He is one of the few who are in this business more for the animals than for profit. To use this the language you used "crooked" for example when describing another individual who you know nothing about is ridiculous, and childish. I watch these forums but I dont post because of this reason alone, some people will go off half-cocked with nothing more than a bad photo and try and destroy someone else, for what reason. Beacause it makes them feel better about themselves? Is this like elementary school when people pick on the fat kid because they have very low self-esteem. I agree with the idea of the BOI, but for bad business deals, or to ask about another person, but this is a perfect example of why they should be done away with. I feel I need to state the facts one more time. You dont know or have had any dealings with Bill. You have not seen the animal, you have only seen a bad picture. And if you can tell with any certainty that what you said is true than you need to open a internet based vet service, you could make a fotune, have everyone send you photos and charge a fee to tell them what is wrong with there animals.
To finish this post this animal is a amazing example of a Biak Green Tree Python tons of yellow and it eats weekly, it has no stuck shed anywhere on it and has a giant waterbowl which I have never seen empty. It is kept on spahgnum moss in a very humid room with about ten other very healthy and equally stunning Green Tree Pythons. This information is very accurate as of two days ago. And I am sure Tim will lash out at me and my credintials so I will put it out on the table. I have four dwarf retics two of which are het for albino, ten ball pythons some albino some het, two Chondros, three dogs, some fish and a few mice. And I am a Realtor in Florida. If you would like to ask me anything without having to bash me first my email is [email protected].

David Young Says:

For some reason, and I must be mistaken, I thought a person could not peruse the BOI unless they were registered? If that is true, then I wonder how this person has watched the forums for so long and not posted but only registered this month?

Could just be me, I might be ALL confused. But I did want to clear this up to avoid future misunderstandings.

As far as the animal .... I can see rib bones, vertebrea (sp) and pieces of shed skin stuck on the animal, not to mention the amount of wrinkling that just seems odd for any good picture of any snake like this. (I like to look at their pictures, but don't need to own one) If what the owner of the animal has to say is true, then at the very least he is guilty of trying to sell an animal that looks like it's on the verge of dying. People post pictures in advertisements to display an animal and so that people can make judgements about the animal (buy it? don't buy it?).

Ah well, that's my rambling bit for the day

I wont continue arguing on this subject for long but I will answer this post. I use the Clark forums more than fauna it seems to be a bit more professional. I was registered on fauna a long time ago but I forgot my ID and created this one about a week ago because a friend had asked me to look at a post. And about the stuck shed I do not see any but I do see a piece of the perch that looks like it could be mistaken for shed. And I dont see any ribs, and as I stated I have seen this animal almost every week for a year. If everyone persists on bieng a "photo vet" please save the photo to your computer and open it in paint, draw circles around the shed and ribs and then post it or send it to me. I agree it is a terrible picture and some aspects do look like stuck shed but it is not.
I havent posted in Clark for almost a year and I have never posted here until this. And the only reason I am posting is because I can honostly say you are wrong.

JMHO This may not be 100% accurate but, I can tell you what others are seeing.....Well defined vertabral ridge indicating the specimen does not have optimum body weight. If it is feeding and not gaining weight over a two year period...It is not getting enough food or parasite loads may be high. If this specimen has been in captivity for two years then this needs to be addressed. Not saying that it's completely unhealthy. Also, this plus the scaring on the head seem indicative of an import. Near the left at the branch V skin folds are apparent. Vertabral ridging is especially apparent in the coils on both sides of the top of pic. This may not mean the specimen is sick??? Maybe just needs a fecal and some more body weight. Definately questionable...That is what brought up the thread.

In the ad this animal was not represented as a CB or CBB, it has been in his collection for two years, AS STATED. As far as the scar on the head it dosent exist, it is YELLOW, it is a Biak and true to form has a lot of yellow. The first thing I noticed when I first saw this animal a year ago was the amazing patch of yellow right on top of his head. And thank you Raymond for the subjective post about what people may or may not see, it reiterates the complete idiocy of someone calling someone else crooked overpoorly taken picture. Also the picture posted by Mesa is the same animal in a better perspective.

The pictures bill took were actually quite good! David that animal should not be for sale and you know it, even if it does have a spot of yellow on its head, that in no way makes it healthy or special, biaks tend to cary some yellow. I would like to see some new pics of this "healthy" animal. WE arent trying to say its CB, but that its a wc and in terrible condition. The snake that mesa posted is very thin too, but does not have the stuck shed.

Photo comparison

Heres the same photo that was posted earlier, of the obviously not healthy (in the photo) snake. And since I cant quote a quote with the quote button, in response to the email that was sent to Lauren I think it was, just because the snake is misted twice a day and has a water bowl, DOES NOT mean its drinking.

Heres a photo of an obviously malnourished and dehydrated snake. This snake was was misted and had a water bowl too, but that doesnt mean anything. You can see the similarities of the backbone, the overly wrinkled skin, etc. Also the snake in this picture died within a month. Im not saying the snake in question isnt healthy now, it very well could be. But the add clearly stated it was a healthy snake, which the picture does not show. My question to Bill Murray is this, if you have had this snake in your possesion for two years, where did it come from and can you show a receipt showing that its not a recent import? Also the spot on the nose that is not yellow or green, more of a whitish line across it, sure looks like alot of fresh scars ive seen on green tree pythons.

clarification

The second picture was to clarify why someone would think this snake is unhealthy and to why this was brought to the BOI....I should have typed that in the last post but for some reason I forgot to put it in there.
