In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was wondering if anyone else here uses bit torrents? Seems like lately they are downloading so slowly. I have heard rumors since the Lokitorrent sell out that spyware is popping up in downloads but I haven't found any on my system yet.
Just wondered if anyone else was having any problems.

Well,

A. i don't know what this boards thoughts are on answering questions on piracy, Since bittorrent files are 99 out of 100 used to transport "warez" on.

B. Spyware, cannot be found in movies, mp3 and picture files. There is no way as of yet, to put spyware into those mediums.

To get spyware in your system you have you either have to accept it online via a website, or have it installed into your system. The thing about spyware is that it is legal, meaning somewhere you said it was ok for it to be in your system. So if you install a program that has spyware in the Eula (End User License Agreement) It will say it somewhere in there, that it will install "insert name here", when you choose to agree to all terms of the Eula. Most people would skip through the 10 pages of legal "mumbo jumbo" on it, they rely on this to screw you into getting it onto their system.

Basically put, spyware would have nothing to do with your downloads being slower, unless they were installed onto your system and your on a 56k or something......

Do you even really understand how the bittorrent protocol works?
Read this, though i doubt you would understand what it means. The idea is the more people with the file, the faster your download speed will be. So you must be downloading files, that are not in alot of hands. From reading around everyone is now hooked to exeem which is a napsterized version of bitorrent. So maybe your downloading from sites that are about dead now, since that came out.

Actually, I don’t use bit torrent for music or movie piracy. I download subtitled anime. I do understand about seeders, global upload settings, sharing ratio, etc…
I am using ABC, I like that better than Bit Tornado or Bit Lord. I haven’t tried eXeem.

I found this article interesting and if you notice in the comments, people are being located by the MPAA:

Webber did a real nice job of selling people out. I almost donated money to the Lokitorrent site too. Slyck is definitely more interesting to read now!

I have seen fewer seeders lately, maybe some are hesitant to share files.
Just wondered if anyone else was experiencing a slow down.

Thanks for answering,
Candy

Check this out!
Not only did Webber sell out his downloaders, he supplied the full PayPal information for everyone that donated money to save Lokitorrent.com. I have a feeling he better be hiding somewhere. Plus the fact no record of a court order or lawsuit can even be found. What a loser!
Makes it hard to trust anyone on the internet now.
