In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I had some wonder. I emailed someone selling them. They are very expensive. 8k for the yellow jackets.

But then I saw someone selling Black bellies for 500 each. So .... I don't know.

Hope someone here can answer.

So the yellow jacket = black pastel x yb x pastel? Or is this black belly something new. Sorry never bothered looking into it, figured I'd just ask.

Black belly is a normal looking snake with...a black belly. I've not seen one in person, but I've been intrigued with them ever since the first yellow jacket was produced three or four years ago.

I have a girl here that I plan to breed to my lemon pastel this season to see if she is a black belly. Here's here belly shots.

Am I "hopeful" that she's a black belly? Of course. Do I deep down think that she is? Probably not. But it will be fun to dink around and find out! :D

We started the yellow jacket/ black belly project here by breeding a pastel male to a unusual" normal " female. When the babies hatched we held back a few of the normals because they were a little different and had some marker traits on them other than just the black belly.

The pastels in the clutch were really nice, but that was about all we thought of them at the time. Keep in mind this is also when pastels were in the $2-$3 range..

After a while we noticed that one of the pastels got brighter with age and looked like a jungle carpet rather than a reg. pastel. Going over the breeding records we took another look at the mother and realized she had the same belly and markers as the babies!

Long story short we bred her with a pastel male again and produced pastels, yellow jackets and black bellies.
We made a super pastel black belly (didn't name it) but it did not surive long after hatching.

We have since sold the project and are not aware of any combos being made with them yet, but hopefully they will be popping up shortly.

I wished I had black belly pics to post of the real deal, but when my computer crashed a few months back I lost all my pics, including many brand new morphs that we imported as well as the black belly pics... hope fully soon they will come to market again!

Josh- Thanks for the background on those! (I'm sorry to hear about the computer...life sucks when that happens!)

Can't wait to see what you come up with in the future with those!

We might have made a spotnose black belly about 2 years ago, but we sold it with the mother and the rest of the clutch to a client who then sold his collection over seas so we do not know it that animal was a black belly spot or not.

The mother was a black belly and the baby hasa black belly and same facial markings as a black belly does, but looked like a reg. spotnose a side from that so who knows..

I'm going to be getting one that has a black belly probably next week. He is a normal het for albino.

oh god! The floodgates have opened, there will be a thousand is this a blackbelly posts within the week. I know I thought of posting one. Just hatched a spider to "normal" ( with a black belly) and all but one of the offspring has the blackbelly on them and the normals have a slightly unique pattern to them while the spiders that have them are fairly normal spiders. Josh any help with what other markers and traits you found the Blackbellys to have?

Yeah, you're right. There are probably going to be a bunch of "is this a blackbelly" posts. LOL
I have never seen a snake with a black belly, so I'm excited to see my new boy. To me, he'll just be a normal with an unusual belly. :)
