This boy has one eye you’d expect from a typical Blue-Eyed Leucistic, and one that is jet black, both perfectly formed. This is not a birth defect, and is no longer a fluke, being the 3rd we’ve produced. I decided to keep last year’s only Blue & Black, more or less to observe his development, and he is keenly aware of his surroundings with no vision issues, always striking dead on target.
On top of how rare he already is, he’s also 66% possible het albino, so if it proves out, he’s capable of producing Pearls and Blizzards, but even if he’s paired with a normal, he can’t produce anything less than 100% hypos.
I can personally attest that there has been NO in-line breeding to produce this specimen, as both hypo parents were bred here from two different bloodlines of Hypos. There wasn’t a single birth defect in the whole clutch, so you can have faith in the genetic strength and health of your purchase.
He’s been eating FT mice and just graduated to small FT weaned rats and growing quickly.
